DeSean Jackson worth 2nd/3rd rd pick?

I would swap first for him. Then sign manning and nelson. Of course redo contracts and cut bell

1st pick-Nick Perry
2nd-Best available tackle
3rd-Best available guard
4th-Michael egnew

No team would trade jackson just to move up to the 8th pick from the 15th. Jackson is a huge weapon would love to have him as a Phin.

everytime I think of Jackson I rememmber the arguements on this board I had that people said ginn was a better player .

The only good thing that ever came out of drafting Ted Ginn Jr. was that we didn't spend that pick on Brady Quinn

I dont agree at least quinn if he didnt do well was worth something in trade. Hell the Browns got Peyton hillis for him while we got a 5th for Quinn.
Not to mention by not drafting Quinn we still drafted Beck who had no trade value at all. So for those two picks we got a 5th rounder while if we drafted Quinn maybe he succeds or maybe not but at least we draft another player in second round that maybe has an impact.

brady quinn should have been our clear cut 2nd choice that year, right behind patrick willis.

ted ginn was a colossal reach at 9th overall...

I believe that only refers to Non Exclusive Franchise tags (for restricted free agents). If they sign an offer sheet with another team, then you have to give up 2 first rounders. From what i understand its basically a super charded RFA tender.

Most of the FA like Desean Jackson or Ray Rice who are set to be unrestricted free agents are slapped with the EXCLUSIVE Franchise Tag. Doesn't allow them to talk to other teams. and trade terms are subject to whatever the teams agree to, however, you better be prepared to reward the disgruntled franchised player with a long term lucrative deal

DeSean Jackson was tendered the"non-exclusive" franchise tag NOT the "exclusive" franchise tag. 2 first round picks are the only compensation the Eagles can receive for DeSean Jackson.

Even if they had used the "exclusive" tag, I doubt any team would trade for a player if they arent allowed to work out a long term contract before the trade.

How much will DeSean cost/want? If it wasnt for $... What would you think of swapping #1's with Philly and getting DeSean?

"Now that Jackson's franchised, the Eagles are hoping a team will offer them more than a third-rounder -- the probable compensation if Jackson were to leave in free agency and Philly didn't go on another free-agency binge. (Compensatory picks are awarded to teams that lost more free agents than they gained.) Philadelphia initially will claim it wants a first-rounder, but privately will take a little less. Long story short: By franchising Jackson, the Eagles put themselves in position to possibly gain a better draft pick if the speedy receiver departs.

However, the Eagles will play hard ball with any potential Jackson trade. With cap room available, they can bring Jackson back for the franchise number if no enticing trade options materialize. This would force the mercurial receiver to prove his worth in a potential walk year. And if he does, Jackson could earn the long-term contract he desires. By tagging Jackson, the Eagles are in full control and don't have to make a deal they don't want to make."

I would offer nothing for him. The only player I woudl give up picks for this year is RG 3.
