DeSean Jackson worth 2nd/3rd rd pick?

Why would we give up draft picks and money for a guy that is arguably only a little bit better than what we had in Ted Ginn, with the bonus of being a diva receiver on top of that? I say arguably only a little better because Ginn has never had anyone throwing to him that is as good as what Jackson has had.

Slightly better than Ginn? Is that a joke? Sure, Jackson is a jack arse and a diva but the guy is the best deep threat in the game. He has the ability to take it to the house on any given play. Ginn is a glorified kick returner.

Dude averaged around 63 catches, 1000 yds, and 5 TDs a year (not including 4 punt return TDs). Ted Ginn is and will never be close to what Desean Jackson can do.

I have to laugh at the number of you that don't think Jackson is one of the best WRs in the game. He's making peanuts so I don't blame him for wanting a raise. After all, isn't Maclin getting paid more? If he's asking top 5 WR money then I tell him to leave. But the man is definitely due a significant raise and if we forked over a 2nd rounder I would not be mad one bit.

Watch a game or two and you will see that D Jackson is alot better than Ginn....And its not even close.

Worth the draft pick? abso-Fing-lutely.

Worth the money he's demanding.... not even close in my eyes.

^^^^^^^^Ya, THAT!

LMAO!!!!! hahahahahhahahahahaha...sometimes I wonder if people on here actually watch football.

Philly is the closest NFL city to me...I see plenty of Eagles games and plenty of Jackson. He's a fast player that can catch the ball from the quarterbacks he's had that can get the ball to him. He isn't good enough to beat out Marshall for the #1 spot, and I think Ginn would have been good enough in the 2nd spot at being a fast guy that can occasionally make a long catch if we hadn't gotten rid of him.

Oh, and I hate Ohio State and hated the Ginn pick when we drafted him, so it's not like I'm some Ginn or OSU homer.

Depends on the year we are giving away the picks.how about a 2nd next year and a 3rd the following year.nothing this year

OK I am confused. Lombardi is saying now that DeSean Jackson is franchised, the Eagles can trade him for whatever they want, but in the new CBA (Article 10, section 2(a)(i) if you want to check for yourself) it says compensation for a franchise player is 2 first round picks. Im eirther missing something or Lombardi forgot to read the new CBA and is going off the old CBA.

A guy with 900+ yards every year he's been in the league is only a little better than Ted Ginn. Just when I thought I heard it all, holy ****.

I believe that only refers to Non Exclusive Franchise tags (for restricted free agents). If they sign an offer sheet with another team, then you have to give up 2 first rounders. From what i understand its basically a super charded RFA tender.

Most of the FA like Desean Jackson or Ray Rice who are set to be unrestricted free agents are slapped with the EXCLUSIVE Franchise Tag. Doesn't allow them to talk to other teams. and trade terms are subject to whatever the teams agree to, however, you better be prepared to reward the disgruntled franchised player with a long term lucrative deal

I would swap first for him. Then sign manning and nelson. Of course redo contracts and cut bell

1st pick-Nick Perry
2nd-Best available tackle
3rd-Best available guard
4th-Michael egnew

DJ would be the perfect compliment to BM ... Now, if we just had a QB to distribute the ball. :idk:
