With Matthews an unrestricted free agent, Parker should have the starting gig all to himself next season. Is Parker, in the event that Matthews exits, ready for the spot in 2016-17 or will the Dolphins offer Matthews a short term deal (fat chance) and keep Parker as a work in progress?

I think that Matthews will not return because he will demand big money and a long contract. Parker will be thrown into the fire; in my view DeVante will contribute greatly next season.

You?

he will be

come preseason you'll start reading a lot articles about "breakout candidates" with devonte parker's picture on the cover

Thrown into the fire? The guy seemed to be pretty poised, productive, and confident down the stretch.

I think he'll have as much (if not more) swagger Week 1 as/than any receiver drafted last year.

I think DVP is gonna be the one throwing the fire next year!! Gonna love watching Landry work with a legit guy on the outside also! With that said if it can be done I would love to resign Mathews also but don't think it's gonna happen

Love to have matthews with those two, K Stills does nothing for me.

I believe Parker will have a break out year. Has superstar potential IMO and showed a little bit of that down the stretch.

I think if TBaum is able to retain Miller, OV and Matthews it'd be a homerun offseason already. I have a feeling Matthews walks but I am praying at least Miller and OV are brought back.

On topic, DVP is more than ready to stand in the spotlight. He is the most talented WR we've had since Marshall.

I loved the pick and still do. He is faster than Marshall and has better hands. He becomes the athlete again he was before breaking his foot sophomore year, refines his routes a bit, and he's going to be a handful for any DB.

I believe he is going to learn a ton this off-season working with Landry and Tannehill. There was definitely a chemistry developing between he and Tannehill the last few weeks of the season and I'm betting this off-season it continues to grow.

Parker better damn well be ready to step into the #1 role next year. (I believe he will)

Parker is better than Mathews. He will have more than 70 receptions, over 1k yards and 8 plus touchdowns.

Mark my words.

Parker as a starter and the #1 this upcoming season... it needs to happen. On the off-topic here about Matthews, he really turned some heads this season with some clutch performances. That said, I don't know if he's a clean enough player to warrant the dollars he'll probably make for our current situation. He could be the #2 and he would be great insurance if there is an injury, but you have to hope you could get similar production out of a Kenny Stills, Matt Hazel, and maybe another rookie. I think you can take some of that Matthews workload and spread some of it out to obviously Parker, some of the other wideouts, definitely the tight end, and maybe some more running game. In that scenario there isn't even enough workload to warrant the contract he deserves. We did him not disservice, Matthews is going to get paid and should thank the Dolphins organization for the opportunity to do so.

Everything i saw from Landry last year was #1 and his numbers indicate it as well, you guys are delusional if you think Parker will be ahead of Landry next year.
