With the shuffling of the Miami Dolphins’ receiving corps this offseason, many draft heads think a receiver might be targeted in the first round to join the young, talented duo of Jarvis Landry and Kenny Stills. If the Dolphins do pull the trigger on a wideout at No. 14 overall, NFL Network’s Mike Mayock thinks DeVante Parker, a 6-foot-3 playmaker out of Louisville, would be a “home run” selection if he’s still available.
“If you want to go wideout at 14,” Mayock said on WQAM’s Joe Rose Show this morning, “you’ve got Kenny Stills and Jarvis Landry — if you could get DeVante Parker at 14, I think it’s a home run. You’d have arguably the best young wide-receiver core in the league with your young quarterback.”

Dude...home runs are in baseball..

Wow. I don't know why, but I like Mayock's opinions. If he likes Parker, I like Parker.

We need Parker! I hope the Dolphins don't try to go for a "base hit" and trade down.... See what i did right there? :chuckle:

odds are low he gets to us...i like that pj williams at 47 from mayock though if its corner there

Don't leave out that Mayock loves Perriman too.

If the browns go bold and move up for Mariota...Parker could fall to the Phins at 14....

Certainly, I would take Mayock at his evaluation. Personally when I look at Parker I see a guy that can make plays certainly. However I dont feel like he's that type of guy that truly changes the dynamics of the game. The type of guy teams game plan for out of fear.

He's meh to me!

If I'm going to take a chance Id rather do if for a guy like Perriman.

The more I think about it I would stay put for Parker or trade down. We don't have enough talent on this team to move up after Coop or White.

I'd be thrilled if we snagged Parker. He makes a lot of contested catches. Fights for the ball. The catch 22 of that, he is often in a situation where he is having to contest for the ball. Meaning he doesn't get great separation a lot. He is certainly not a refined NFL receiver yet. But you have to love a guy that will repeatedly go up and fight for the ball, and often win.

I do value Mayock's opinions. His "homerun" talk does add a little more excitement to the pick.

Most intriguing man in the draft from our perspective imo. Drafting him would be quite bold, but with his talent and upside, I for one wouldn't object.
