Ok so I have a lot to say about the game yesterday, the team and the coaching staff, but I'll keep it relatively brief by sticking to the topic of Devante Parker.

Unless there is something that we don't know about his foot, or unless his knowledge of the playbook is still far behind (which I seriously doubt is the case) there is absolutely no reason why Parker should not be playing in 3 receiver sets over Stills and Jennings. I'll bullet point why.

- Greg Jennings was brought in to be a stable, veteran, sure handed, reliable presence. He isn't big, he isn't explosive, and he isn't scaring any defense with his playmaking ability. If we can't rely on him to get open in the holes of defenses and catch the football then he flat out shouldn't play. That drop he had on 3rd down in the first quarter was a brutal drive killer, and he clearly isn't on the same page as Tannehill. Jennings can be relegated to 4th or 5th receiver duties.

- It's only been two games, but Lazor is apparently dead set on not utilizing the skill set of Kenny Stills. Draw up a deep ball for him? Reverse? Bubble screen? Anything remotely creative? Nah. If he isn't used properly then he's a 4th or 5th receiver along with Jennings.

- We need a spark offensively. Desperately. Regardless of his route running prowess or current chemistry with Tannehill, Parker is a big kid with great hands, explosiveness, and he's a great red zone threat. He needs a shot.
I'm not saying that Devante Parker is the panacea for what ails us offensively. We have tremendous issues with blocking, the running game and the play calling, but we need to try SOMETHING. Honestly, what's the worst that could happen by giving him a real chance to be on the other side of Matthews in 3 wides? The risk/reward ratio in this situation totally favors the reward, and I truly can't imagine he'd be worse than what we're getting from Jennings and Stills.

PS Holy **** Walt Aikens has to sit.

Dallas Thomas sucks, Jason Fox sucks even worse, Our entire d-line has been stinking up the place, Kelvin Sheppard blows, Aikens sucks, Brice McCain sucks, Jamar Taylor blows chunks and so does our coaching staff. This all explains why we couldn't beat a pathetic Jags team.

The only caveat is that he is coming off an injury and may not be up to speed. Also, he is a first year WR...they can take some time to adapt to the NFL...unless they are just studs (let's hope that is the case...)

I totally agree about Parker and really agree about Stills. When has Lazor incorporated him anywhere into the game plan?

So far it feels like Dion Jordan. Don't jump all over me I don't think Parker will be have more suspensions than receptions as Jordan does with sacks but this is what I mean:

1. Injury in preseason.
2. Fans dying to see him but plays on a very limited basis.

Let's hope he gets going. One could argue he should have a bigger impact than Landry did last year as he was the 14th overall pick in the draft :) and Landry was what 63rd?

I understand we all want to see Parker out there more, but coming off the foot injury, it takes time to strengthen and fully return. I bet the staff doesnt want to rush him back into anything and risk and further hampering of his foot or injury, when you want this kid to be dominant for us with a long, full healthy career.

saying this... his time will come. and I am curious if it will be sooner than later now too. i agree we need a spark... he will hopefully be it. BUT LETS BE ABLE TO RUN THE BALL TOO.

Jennings drop was crucial early on in the game... but didnt know you needed to SCARE a defense to be a good WR... he will be fine, and will contribute when needed for us. Stills himself just isnt getting open either... he needs to get open!!!

but not having a good OLine for us, or a running game doesnt help... gotta improve there too!!!

There is nothing worse than a receiver who isnt where he is supposed to be in a quick heavy passing offense. This team doesnt have the luxury of training Parker when nithing except the passing game, qb and a few receivers, is working. Bottom line RT knows best who needs to be out there.

As long as the OL is made of silly putty nothing else matters.

Can't run. Can't hide.

...good thing Philbin is an OL guru!

BNF.

Agreed he needs more snaps. But bottom line, with the OL being a disaster and crumbling at the end of close games as usual, it doesnt matter. Might as well take the leash off him though, if his foot truly is healthy.

I noticed Parker's body language yesterday did not inspire confidence. Whenever he was in the frame on the sideline I paid more attention to him than what they were focused on. He looked disinterested, out of touch with the game, bored. In fact, there was one camera moment going to break or something where they were focused on him standing there and he was just expressionless, looking ahead with his hands holding his shoulder pads collar.

I'm not saying he is a malcontent, but something is not right here.

I would love to hear what the staff sees as the downside to utilizing Parker now. If you are concerned that he doesn't know the full playbook, then you can run specific plays designed to maximize his strengths (throw fades in the red zone, etc.). If you are concerned that he is not running the proper routes, or not ending up where he is intended to end up, then again, run specific plays designed to maximize his strengths and his current skill-set.

In other words, this staff is incompetent, and rather than defining down his responsibilities so that he can contribute right away, they would rather keep him on the sidelines.

Hickey & Tannenbaum should be furious with this staff, because they have provided some very talented and physically-gifted players. This staff cannot figure out how to employ them.

We need to score more points in the red zone they say and they dont even play a legitimate red zone option

Parker probably dropped a Snickers wrapper and left it on the floor without picking it up.
