Developing Pat Devlin?

Philbin is talking about a having a fair QB competition, but then he only mentioned Gerrard and Moore. I hope they have a FAIR competition with all of the QBs. Gerrard had his time, Moore has been in the league for 5+ years and still pedestrian at best. Devlin is the only guy with any potential here, I hope they give him a fair shot. We've wasted too much time with Moore and Henne already which ends up getting us nowhere.

Living in South Jersey, I had the chance to see several of Devlin's games at Delaware ... He isn't a bad QB and am very disappointed in his fall from grace after the 2010 season ended. Once the combine and pro days rolled around he seemed to lose all the momentum and confidence he showed during his last season of college football. After the strike ended and training camp opened up, it was obvious Devlin was uncomfortable and had the look of a deer in headlights when he did play during the preseason games!!! his fall has me dumb founded, because that wasn't what i saw in the games i watched him play in his final season at Delaware ... I may be in the minority, in saying, I still believe Devlin is salvageable and can develop into something more than a 2nd/3rd string NFL QB!!! I'm not sure how much not having a full off season hurt him, but am hopeful he gets a REAL chance in 2012 to right the ship on his pro career!!! Maybe I'm being too much of a homer or a dreamer, but Devlin showed alot of QB skills at Delaware, I remain in his corner and hopeful Miami found another Romo!!! at least I can dream!!!

What is the difference with a 7th rounder and undrafted F.A.? He Philbin did it with Flynn, so who knows.

It is a distinct possibility that Garrard won't make it through camp. It is somewhat of a possibility that he doesn't make it through summer, and it is highly likely that he will never again start or be anything more than a number 3 QB.

Actually, he could have a relapse of his back condition at any time and retire; so there is no need to think that Devlin couldn't easily be the Dolphins #3 QB this season.

I'd like to see what Devlin could do. Even if we draft a QB develop them all, and keep the best.

I'm also like others. If he shows enough moxy I'm not sure Garrard makes the final 53.
