As I look over the Phins current roster, I can't help but think that we need help in the defensive backfield, at wideout, and on both lines. Obviously we need a QB too. Given Coach Saban's defensive background, his propensity for selecting SEC players, and the risk that selecting a QB early in the draft presents, it seems likely that Saban will take a lineman or CB from the SEC early and look there for his QB of the future as well. So what does the SEC have to offer us this time at QB? Jay Cutler, Chris Leak, D.J. Shockley, and Brodie Croyle. If Saban decides to target other positions early in the draft, Cutler and Leak will most likely be gone leaving us with only Shockley and Croyle to choose from. Those are two fine players, but I certainly wouldn't mind seeing him take a late round flyer on another QB with SEC ties: Ingle Martin. Do you guys think he's worth it and if so can he be our Mark Bulger, Jake Delhomme, Billy Volek, or dare I say, Tom Brady?

I wonder if Sabans familarity with Cutler is why Mueller is rumored to like him.

Ingle Martin as in Furman's Qb, i've seen him play a couple of times this year and he looks pretty good, as a matter of fact he's on espn 2 right now if somebody wants to check him out

CBs IMO are just as much of a risk as a QB. They hardly ever end up quite as good as advertised. A lot of goot CBs are picked in the later rounds. the same cant be said for QBs

if cutler is gone look for us to take Omar Jacobs of Bowling Green

career

71 TD's

11 INT's

why as his stock dropped so badly with the uprise of Quinn and Cutler

exactly

because guys who are considerd 'better' because they played for better teams are entering the draft his stock falls

it hasnt fallen due to his play, but because of big name players in the draft

Omar Jacobs will be an effective NFL QB

he has shown the ability to make the right reads and decisions and has a great arm
