Devin Hester back to Florida?

Please no. No one is afraid of him anymore. Returner is one of the positions that is most easily impacted by young guys, so we can go that route instead of giving the job to a guy about to retire.

whats the difference. Thigpen basically only plays special teams. You can use Hester as a receiver if needed . You don't want him as a starter but he brings more to table than Thigpen

We need to cut ties with Thigpen also.

This one takes the cake of "Release was-a-superstar vet, lets sign him".

Hester is a PR/KR specialists and a washed up one at that. Toss in that the KR is basically eliminated and you have a player for PR's only.

Also, Hester sucks as a WR so stop trying to convinve yourselves he could step in.

The guy is a speed demon and at 31-32 years old has lost a step or four.

Lot of comments saying Hester's washed up? He did lead the league in kick return yards, was 8th in kick return average, 3rd in the league in punt return average, lead the league in total return yards, 7th in the league in all-purpose yards, and had a punt return TD to widen his lead as the all-time return TD leader. He's only 31, and he'll have something to prove. Whether you want a roster spot dedicated to someone who's a specialist is up for debate, but he's also not just any specialist - he's one of the best returners ever and still playing at a high level. It's worth at least considering.

Not a bad idea for the right price. He's still got plenty of value as a return man and I can't watch Thigpen back there another season.

As a semi-Bears fan who watched every return of his last season, I can say that Hester definitely still has some juice...one thing that hindered him last season was the loss of longtime Bears special teams coach Dave Toub; but even with below-average blocking, he was still among the best returners in the game.

To my eyes, he hasn't lost a step...worth the money if he's interested.

Would love this... Chanting "Hester Hester Hester" before a kick off was extremely fun. Would to see him here again.

He was among the better return men last year so he is not washed up yet and when I speak of receiver I mean as a 5th or 6th receiver which he can step in as

Living in Chicago and hating the Bears as I do, I would love to see Hester in Miami returning and to watch him break the record in Chicago when we beat them there this year. That would be a riot. I would love to have him, our return game is crap and even if he has lost a step its his vision for the gaps that get him an extra 10 or more yards that is amazing. I would love to see this get done.
