Devin Hester wants to play for the Dolphins

South Florida Sun Sentinel reporter Chris Perkins caught up with the man who holds the NFL record for most career touchdown returns with 18 during the camp, and asked him about the possibility of Hester returning to play for his hometown team. "I would love to play for the Dolphins," Hester replied.

That is, of course, just the player expressing an interest in joining a team. No where in that statement is there an implication that Miami would be interested. The conversation, however, continued, with Hester explaining 13 NFL teams have contact his agent, and that the Dolphins are among that group.

Hester averaged over 5 yards more per kickoff return, and near 7 yards more per punt return than Thigpen last year. (To be fair, he didn't return that many punts, but I don't think that's something he suddenly can't do.)

If we're not entering Thigpen's offensive skills into the equation, I think this would be a no-brainer at the right price. It's simply an upgrade at the position.

@RapSheet: Devin Hester has reached a deal with the #Falcons, per source. Had visited there earlier in the week. It’s a three-year contract

Just heard Hester is a Falcon. Ohhhh well....he wanted too much money to be primarily a kick returner.

I would like to see a play for a veteran RB. Some decent selections available.

I actually feel the opposite. I would rather see them get one of the top backs in the draft than a veteran running back.

I am not sure when you would strike for a top back in the draft. I think the team has to go line (with multiple picks IMO) and look at LB, TE as well as DB's on the draft day.

There are some productive veteran RB's that are not pricey, that have experience and could help right away.

Fill a need with a veteran.
