Dexter McCluster, Ole Miss

I would definitely like a "lightning" to complement Ronnie and Ricky's "thunder." There's a few guys like that this year: McCluster, Spiller, Devine. Any others?

Michael Smith of Arkansas is also a fast little running back:

I would probably take Noel Devine if we go after a small back in rounds 2 to round 4.

We do have Kory Sheets who runs in the 4.3 range.

McCluster is a great luxury pick sort of player. I don't see him falling into the later rounds, because he is explosive, but I think we have too many need to fill before we go after a player in that mold. I mean, if he fell to the 4th - which he won't - I'd say grab him. But, we need to find a stud WR, ILB, and OLB. We may also need to address NT and TE.

The Vikings are a great example. They took Harvin because they had a big #1 WR, a very good O-line, a good TE, and AP. So, an explosive player that's something between a WR and RB gives them an extra option.

Pound for pound....the toughest, grittiest....football player in the country...

Every bit as explosive, elusive, versatile, and fast as Percy Harvin.....only 2 inches shorter and about 25 pounds lighter...

Had Houston Nutt been running the offense through McCluster to start with instead of through that overhyped quarterback of his......Ole Miss would probably be heading to the Cotton Bowl instead some third rate bowl in Shreveport....

But....McCluster is a luxury pick....and it would probably be in Miami's best interest not to be in the market for anymore of those any time soon...

He's more explosive than Harvin - from what I've seen.

McCluster is a great back, but in contrast to saying about Ole Miss bowl situation. At worst, we attend the Cotten Bowl this year, and if we beat LSU tomorrow we have a great chance at the Capital One Bowl vs Penn State.

I wouldn't mind McCluster at all. He would be a deadly change of pace back. Just think, you got Ronnie (if resigned), Ricky, Lex, and Polite's power running, then hit them with a scat back like McCluster when they're wore down in the 2nd half. Dangerous. Not so sure if we can afford to go with a RB in the 3rd though will all the holes on this team.

Ole Miss and LSU are on right now on CBS....not sure if it's on everywhere but I am going to see what McCluster can do against LSU.

McCluster's first carry versus LSU went for 57 yards.

We need playmakers, plain and simple. Our offense is decent, but lacks any explosiveness. I know part of that can be attributed to our run-heavy, ball control philosophy, but we need a guy like McCluster.

McCluster once again looked great against a tough LSU defense. This is the fourth straight SEC game he has rushed for 150+
