However, what are your thoughts on us passing up on him and drafting Odrick, 7 years later. I posted this because I envisioned in 2010, Henne throwing to Marshall and Dez. However, there were character issues on Dez, and 7 years later, do you think they held true? Has his produciton on the field and distractions justified us not selecting him? Remember Tannehill was drafted the next year. Hope this is a fun debate

Jerry Jones paid people to keep an eye on Dez. Not sure if they still do. Parcells never would've signed off on it, and I think he would've been traded. The Trifecta has quite the ego. You see how they treated HOF Jason Taylor.

Dez was selected before we got to our pick.

We traded the 12th pick to move down, landing future HOFers Odrick and Misi who were pretty much the epitome of the Phins organization. We're at a safe point now where we can all admit it was a really dumb move and a great example of the flawed desire to constantly trade down. Dez is hardly the only one we missed out on with it.

Actually Ireland was right about passing on him as his subsequent minor scrapes, his conflict with his drug addled mother and need to be coddled bore out. He was wrong in asking the obvious question instead of quietly making the correct assumption that a mother with jail time and multiple convictions who Dez admitted had worked for his pimp father was surely not the bookkeeper.

Now drafting Oldrich is another story entirely.

We also passed on Brees twice(the draft and then free agency) and also passed on Rodgers and there's nothing we can do about it so why go crazy over it? and oh yeah, we passed on Brady 5 times....lol

yeah, any regrets I have about drafting would start and end with Wanny back in 2001. We draft Brees and everything turns out differently.
