Today comes word that Kansas wide receiver Dezmon Briscoe is turning pro. Our friends at CFT have the details.

Briscoe is a 6-foot-3, 205-pounder who had 84 catches for 1,337 yards and was named to the All-Big 12 first team this season.

After the Jayhawks' final game of the season, Briscoe said he believed he would go in the first or second round of this year's NFL draft.

"I do have a good chance to go high in the draft, I hope," Briscoe said after catching 14 passes for 242 yards and two touchdowns in what turned out to be his final college game.

Let's put it this way. There's video of him running step for step with Lendy Holmes at full speed. If Briscoe runs a 4.65 to 4.70 like Lendy did, then he's going to have a tough time going "high" in the draft.

I think he'll run faster, but I think it's also notable that his speed tops out at about the same speed as Hakeem Nicks, maybe slower. I viewed Nicks as much more powerful and physical player. Briscoe broke some tackles against Louisianna Tech and the like, but he looks a little thin and high cut, I doubt he'll be breaking those same tackles against the New York Jets and New England Patriots.

I don't know how consistent his hands are either. We'll see. Long draft process ahead.

this wr class is top heavy there's only a handful of guys who i think can be that #1 wr we so desperately need

In most drafts there are only a few WR's that go on to be "good" anyways.

Hard to see them passing on a "Nicks" this year when they are saying they need to get their 4th round pick from last year the ball more on a guy like him again this year even if they bring in a Vet or two.

The fact that Henning is saying Brian needs to get the more looks, shows they now know we need two real starting WR's not just a "real #1" but a real #2 as well.

People like to say Bill dosen't take WR's in the 1st round but the truth is when he needed one he took one in the 1st and 3rd round the very same year...........

Their is one truth i've never seen posted or talked about here or anywhere and is he has never drafted a DT....EVER in the 1st round.

That's some good knowledge for all the draftnik's here.

What's surprising is Tuna hasn't drafted an OLB during his tenure in Miami.

Jerry Hughes come on down..... to S Florida?

Have you guys seen this guy play??he has speed, he ran a kick back vs TX and smoked them! He catches everything he touches and good routes. he will go high, end of 1st even. Id love to have have. He reminds me of a plaxcio burress ( football! ) and im a huge mu fan..

if patrick turner can go #87 overall anything's possible but briscoe does nothing for me
