knowing what kind of people that BP likes to bring into camp, you can bet that they will not be high profile kind of guys, well maybe 1 or 2, but with 35 million of Wayne Huizenga's loot the willing and dealing will be done through the draft.

The draft is where you get a chance to mold a player, not necssarily the most talented but someone who listens and someone who can be taught. FA are high priced assassin who come in and destroy your salary cap and they leave, this football team need to be built from the ground up. There isno reason to put pressure on the organization to win now, let the team build itself into a contender it might take 3 or 4 years but it will happen remember the Jets, Panthers, Raven, and Jaguars, they did it trough the draft, BP will be looking for those diamonds player like Zach Thomas, Jason Taylor, to fill this roster, and guess what they want be players chosen in the first or second rounds, they will be undrafted free agents, and late round selections. This team will be tougher, disciplined, and held accountable for what they do on and off the field, you already see evidence of that with the players that they released on Monday.

well its not like our personnel is that bad, its just we underachieved a hell of alot last year. get some quality starters from free agency, and get into the draft with a specific plan of what holes you are going to fill. planning and organization are key

Well, this sounds all nice and good...and we all should expect a 2-3 'rebuilding' period, diamonds in the rough, project players...but I'll bet come August, there will be more people 'expecting' a quick turnaround. We'll pick up a few FAs and then the draft and suddenly, most fans will be expecting p/os, not 2-3 yrs...just wait and see...

You got to be kidding! Carey and Satele were the only starting caliber linemen. Hadnot, Lewinski, and Shelton are backups only. Derek Hagan was our only top 60 receiver (barely starting quality), and he did not start. Note: Ginn will probably make the top 40 next year. Our TEs are jokes. At least we are loaded at running back. Think what Ronnie could do with a competent offensive line.

The strong point on the defense last year were our linebackers, and they were not very good. Holiday and Taylor played ok, but the rest of the defensive line did not get it done. At least the young guys got some playing experience. Rod Wright might emerge next year as a competent rotation player. I do have to agree with you about injuries to the secondary. Our talent in the secondary is better than it appeared last year, but we need two more starters to round it out.

I strongly believe that BP and Ireland will upgrade our talent level to reasonable this year, and I expect Sparano to deliver between 5 to 8 wins next year. That is as good as it gets.

Tell that to Cam.

There are going to be alot of disappointed people here, without question. But rebuilding is the proper way to fix the mess that we are in, and people will be glad that we took the time to do it right.

I think parcells will have us further along in two years than we give him credit for.
Look at his track record. losing record the first year with the giants, than I think they went 10-6. I don't think the giants had a winning record in the previous ten or eleven years before parcells arrived.
same with the pats and jets. turns losers into winners.

my only question is if it takes 4 years, what does parcells do after that? Isn't his contract a 4 year deal, how long will he stick around, even if we are turned around by than?

those are big shoes to have to fill.

im confused to your "35mill" and "wheeling and dealing" in the draft.
are you suggesting that we will use that money to sign our draft picks? i thought we had a special "rookie pool" aside from our cap to sign the rookies?

i didn't know we could use our reg salary to pay our rookies first yr. is that true and could you explain how that works out? i can only think of maybe to sign them longer term(7 yrs as opposed to a norm 4) and i didn't think rookies go for the 7 yr deals anymore.

If you look at Dallas as an example of what Tuna likes to do it is most likely that he will build through the draft for the most part.

I don't think the Phins Fans fully appreciate what Parcells has been able to accomplish in his other stops.

He took Dallas to 10-6, with Quincy Carter and Troy Hambrick in the back field....that is a miracle there....it was smoke, mirror....magic...

There are 2 players left, from before Parcells on the Cowboys Roster.

I wonder if this is the most daunting task and biggest challenge Parcells has undertaken up till now? As bad as this roster is due to poor drafts and management decisions it may be the toughest challenge he's faced. I feel confident though that if anyone can handle it Parcells can.
I don't know, maybe the job was just too big for both Cameron and Saban and they were overwhelmed by it. The difference being that Saban recognized it and got out before he sunk and Cameron was kicked to the curb before he could get a grip on things if he was ever able to even handle it?
