i have seen people taking about about how bad the refs were yesterday. i havent seen this mentioned yet but did anyone see when gus took off for like a i dunno it was like a 12 yard gain and godfrey was coming up behind him for the tackle. gus started to go down and it looked like to me that godfrey took a swing at gus's head. anyone else see this? cause i thought that was a pretty dirty play.
 
I agree. depending on the angle you see it from, it looks like he took a deliberate shot, or that he was already on his way into Gus when Gus started the slide. I personally think it was a missed call by the refs (again...).
 
yeah i was thinking that woulda drawn a flag if a phin tried to do that to brees....
 
Imagine if anyone took a shot like that at Brady or Vick..

I think it looked more vicous than it was intended

although im sure he tried to put a little extra on it
 
Ya that looked like a dirty shot but his defense could of been he was trying to punch the ball out! Even the announcers pointed out it looked like he was trying to closeline him.
 
No doubt in my mind that if Crowder did that to Brees it would've been a personal foul. I was screaming at the TV for a flag but I guess one of these days I'll realize the refs can't hear me no matter how loud I yell. :D It ended up not mattering as we scored on that drive anyway.
 
hmmm it looked pretty clear in my eyes that he was trying to knock the ball out of Frerotte's hands.
 
even with the head hunting, I have to salute Gus for his play. He was strong all day long (we should start calling him speedstick!)
 
if we would have ended up losing, i wouldnt be able to see straight i'd be so mad from all the BS calls yesterday.....even the announcers were on our side....alsdjfalsdjf

just thinking about it pisses me off..ok we won...count to ten:

It was definitely an attempt at a dirty shot and was not aimed at the ball. It was aimed at Frerotte's head. Fortunately for him he slid under it. I guess since he slid under it there was no foul but the intent was there. I guess you can't throw a flag for intent.
 
Yep, I saw it and thought it was a potential fine. Still might be. I thought there was definitely some home cooking reffing happening on the field. Replay couldn't overturn some of those plays on the field (Ronnie's TD, er, I mean fumble) and caught some (the repositioned spot when the guy clearly ran backwards). Be interesting to know how those refs graded out.
 
It looked to me like he was swinging for Gus's head. It looked like Gus looked up at the jumbotron and knew exactly when to duck because he got down just in time.
 
I agree their probally was foul intent, but like I said he can always say he was trying to punce the ball out
 
announcers even mentioned he look like he tried to take gus's head off. im usually not one to complain about refs, but damn, they were horrible yesterday.
