Tannehill is going to be at sun life today meeting with the players and fans and they already gave him the playbook on offense and said its basically identical to the one in texas

Tannehill also is picking #17 as his jersey number and stephen ross said hopefully the dolphins can retire that jersey number later on

Good he will be playing this year...............

I am very impressed that Tannehill is so eager to learn and get going. A great sign of leadership.

This gives him a huge advantage going into pre-season. Also will narrow his learning curve as he doesn't need to learn new concepts and terminology, simply needs to adjust to the speed of the NFL and refine his mechanics. I wouldn't be surprised if he starts at some point this year.

Now let's develop him right. It will be easier for him to develop since he already knows the system. I love his upside.

i am curious to see if we start winning games close games due to our defense and not offense but we are kind of in the playoff picture would they put tannehill in? we shall see i suppose.

That Mike Sherman playbook got him a 6-6 record and fired. Not too reassuring.

Adjusting to NFL speed and refining your mechanics isn't so "simple." He won't be ready to play this year.

The system? Mike Sherman's .500 winning percentage system in college is suddenly going to send us to the next level in the NFL. Here's to hoping against hope. I really hope it's just their D that was lousy.

Thats why they drafted him..........duh. I mean seriously you have joe philbin who wanted to introduce a high tempo west coast offense and sherman was that guy. Tannehill already knew that system. Atleast they are doing it right. They have confidence in this kid and alot of it. So lets sit and watch. Moore seems to be the back up plan once again.

Plus the WRs had like 70 drops. I'm not going to say Tannehill was perfect in those games, but it's hard to win when your D blows and your WR drop a ton of passes.

Just FYI. I agree with every single word you said.

Not saying it is, but learning and adjusting to new concepts and a new system is a big part of what a rookie has to learn, he doesn't. That takes a big chunk of time that he can re-allocate into mechanics. Adjusting to speed of the game varies, some players adjust almost immediately, some take longer.
