I love our young Coach and he was consistent in focusing on just the game ahead throughout the season. However, having secured the wildcard berth, maybe he should have rested some players for the Pittsburgh game. It's water under the bridge but it was significant that Mike Tomlin took the opportunity to rest Bell, Brown and Roethlisberger and all 3 excelled.
Adam Gase is trying to develop a tough culture at the Dolphins and we need more talent on the roster, but I question his decision not to rest any players. Who agrees with me?

I personally would have rested the team in that game. Of course, I'm not a coach. And the roster was getting so thin that it was getting tough to find people to play.

Haven't we seen the flip side of the coin where a team rests starters before a playoff game and goes in and gets destroyed in the first round? It's no more beneficial, imo, than resting them before a game in the regular season.

If you have something to play for then he made the right decision. Miami still had an outside shot at the #5 seed and could have reshuffled the seeding order with a win over the Pats and a few key losses. In the case of Pitt there was nothing that could have changed their #3 seed so why not rest players.

If anything, I think this should reinforce for most people that Gase made the right decision.

Everyone thought Houston would be an easier opponent than Pittsburgh, yeah? So if we got dunked by Pittsburgh, why criticize Gase for trying to get us a game against Houston?

In retrospect, he probably should have had the team working overtime on basic blocking & tackling drills...

Good coaching significantly helps teams win after a week of rest. Shula had a perfect 7-0 record after a the bye week during his time. Belichick is 11-4.

Would have much preferred to play the Texans on Saturday and possibly have our qb this weekend. Not sure any team would have rested players in our situation. Plus Gase practiced in full pads last week so wear and tear wasn't too concerning for him. This topic has been beaten to death though.

This ^^

I like going for it, and sometimes resting guys makes them stiff. There isn't really a right or wrong as to rest your guys or not...you gotta know your team and how they will do best.

Given how beat up our team was, I say we should have rested the starters we had left.

Who was hurt that could have played yesterday but didn't? I think Gase made the right call

We didnt have a playoff caliber lineup, rest wouldnt have changed that...

They rested the right player which was jelani jenkins

He was the best chance personnel wise to flip our fate

Didnt work out but it wasnt because of him
