Did Gase really improve Cutler?

I am amazed that this guy has a book when he doesnt seem to understand coverage or progressions on the actual play analysis hes presented with regards to miamis o this year under lazor

yeesh that's too much cutler-vision for me...i'm assuming his statistical analysis proves no?

i don't expect tannehill to suddenly become a better quarterback with a new hc, i expect the hc to implement an offense that's tailored more to his game and allows him to play at his best. whatever that may be.

FWIW, Fahey blocked me on Twitter when I started questioning him on those similar topics. :chuckle: :idk:

I do enjoy reading/viewing most of his work though. Or did I guess.

Off the bat, I truly don't believe it was Gase's work with Cutler that sealed his fate as our HC.

Also, we don't need Gase to "fix" Tannehill, bring in a professional system and balance the offense.

The note on the high amount of screen passes doesn't tickle my fancy.

Run the ball, play action, bootlegs, screens. Qb sneaks. For Christ sake we have the athletes. Move them around more, audible. Tannehill will be fine. But more importantly they need balance.

To be fair, anybody can publish a book now with relative ease and little expense.

Its debatable if that was Cutler's best season or if he was even improved, but even if true shouldn't the guy thats been the head coach of two different Super Bowl bound teams get a smidgen of the credit?

Isnt fox a defensive coach who turned over virtually the entire O to Gase for the last few years?

As a Bears fan I watched every game and Cutler definitely was better...he was much smarter throwing the ball. His numbers would be even better if it weren't for a number of interceptions that were tipped or in desperation time. And as has been discussed elsewhere, he was often working with threadbare support, as, due to injuries, the Bears rarely had all their weapons on the field at the same time.

Honestly, I don't care if he makes Tannehill "better"...in the grand scheme of things it matters little. Tannehill is already a good QB and has shown it during his career. The biggest issue we have faced over the last 4 plus years has been less Tannehill playing well, but the overall product of the offense. We have seen questionable calls going back to Sherman that have killed drives and cost this team games. We have countless examples of Lazor out thinking a situation and getting "too cute" with his play calling at critical moments. We have seen an offense handcuff by the arrogance of an OC and wanting control over every single thing that happens during a games...the ol' "scheme over players" and the "I'm the smartest person in the room" attitude that doomed the team the last 2 years. What I am hoping for is a coach that can get the most out of his players and have a level of trust in their abilities...that alone with competent play design and play calling will move this offense forward and by extension; Tannehill.

Cutler is good for stat. He never win game when it account. Over paid.
