I think he was 3 of 8 from 50+ last year so regardless of injury there was a pretty good chance he was going to miss.
On the other hand every FG kicker that kicks against us never miss from 50+...it's unreal.
Biggest issue with Caleb Sturgis is his health. I can understand him not wanting to really force long attempts when he's just coming back from a strained groin. He will get stronger. However, he has to remain healthy. Kickers have been dropping like flies across the NFL this year. I don't know why?
Maybe cause the extra point was moved back to the 15 yard line?

Did anyone notice if he was in for any of the kickoffs? I saw that they had rogers in for most of those and they were landing on like the 10 yard line. One of my bigger concerns with Sturgis is his ability to get touchbacks. How did he do in that area tonight?
I was excited with the way Potter was looking. I really hope Miami will be able to consistantly get very close when they are not scoring TDs, because anything 45 or more could be an adventure...Sturgis makes me very nervous. 
I felt a lot more bullish about the kicking game this time last season. If it's not one thing, it's always another.

Rogers kicked off after both of our scores. He can not kick it far which is concerning, his first kick was caught at 7 yard line, second kick at 6.

Good chance he held up on his kicks to get some return coverage plays in. He kicked off at the beginning and it was touchback
Sturgis sucks.
Worst FG % in league last year. I don't care if he was nursing a sore nut sac or how many were from 50+. Every kicker deals w same stuff. If he wasn't a draft pick he'd be cut already. Bring in a vet that will be automatic from inside 40. Sturgis isn't automatic from anywhere.

Most underrated player on the team, although he looks worse in a Dolphin helmet than any player in franchise history. Somehow it's even a stupider look this year.
His face looks smashed in by the facemask that could survive a nuclear attack. The only good news is the distraction from the motion sickness logo. I don't even notice it on Sturgis.

How was our special teams coverage overall? Last game it was horrible.
Hard to believe a kicker in the bottom 5 of FG percentage in 2013 can be called underrated.
