People need to understand that in warp-ups or practice a kicker can kick a straight line drive FG. But during a game they have to put a lot more arc on the ball to get it over the defenders, meaning they will get less distance.
There is nothing shamefull about missing a 56 yard FG unless you are Scott Norwood kicking in a Super Bowl.
