Did I watch the same game?

I love it when people sugarcoat things when they run down "if this or that didn't happen".. blah blah phoey

Guess what. All those mistakes and miscues are routinely made by poor football teams.

That's why they're bad teams to begin with... and Miami is one of them as they routinely commit many miscues

No sugarcoating.

IE- bitch1ng and moaning about 2 turnovers on offense when you should really be bitch1ng why this defense wasn't able to create 3 or 4 turnovers of their own. How many turnovers did Houston commit again ?? Not as many as Miami did. In fact, Miami's defense couldn't even create a single turnover yesterday.

Miami's offense committed 2

Like I said, that's why they're bad teams to begin with.

IMO its pretty normal for a pro bowl kicker to shank a 30 yarder and kick a 22 yarder with a terrible angle.

Eh, I see what you're saying but I've never been a fan of looking at box scores and statistics although I do like the new QBR a little.

I just like to sit down and watch the game live so I can be a fan. I can pick up a lot there. Later on in the week when I have time I like to sit down and watch it again with the volume muted. You see a lot more "football" that way. That's how the coaches watch it in the film room. There's no cheering or booing from the crowd. No commentators saying this and that. It's just you watching football and spotting weaknesses.

You are going to need more then a week to spot all our weaknesses!

Same Same.... Henne, inconsistant, lacks touch, lacks accuracy..... OL, continues to be below average and is HC's specialty.... Defense, coverage issues, no pressure, thin accross the board except maybe DL..... Coaching, below average....

The stadium will be empty.... as it is.... nobody is in the club level right now....

Face the reality....

with the exception of his newfound mobility it seems to be the same chad up and down. After two weeks Henne is the 25th rated passer in the league witha 79 rating previous two years around 75.

Of course that doesn't take into consideration that the 2 INTs were not on him. Gets his arm hit, that's the o-lines fault, last play of the game throw it up why not? You take them out and he has a 90 passer rating. Fact of the matter is Chad played well enough to win us this game. Marshall drops an easy TD and a blocked field goal. There's 10 points. How much did we lose by? Not to mention Thomas fumbling the ball on their side of the 50.

I'm not sugarcoating anything; I pointed out the obvious. The one thing that I will agree with is that we are definitely inconsistent. 2 games, 2 losses, different reasons. At one point in the game, momentum had definitely shifted, and Houston was back on their heels. A good play was made and Thomas fumbled the ball. I'm not saying "well, if he didn't fumble, and if Brandon held the ball, and if the usually-reliable Carpenter didn't miss two....blah blah blah". Those are part of the game, but as much as they can't be erased, they must also be considered; that's not sugarcoating.

Did anyone expect Thomas to have 100 yards after today? Did anyone expect him to do it so convincingly? Did anyone expect Henne to have such a great game last week? These are positives that I am not turning blind to simply because I am pissed that we lost. Of course, a handful of positives don't change the fact that we have quite a bit of improving to do, but negative results don't mean that the sky is falling.

"Oh, but we suck at home!!!!!" That stadium was less than halfway full. There are more people at preseason games than there were at that game yesterday. How would you play when you know the fans dressed as orange seats or wore your opponent's jersey? The issue of winning at home is greatly exaggerated, and I don't believe that fan support, or lack thereof, is the reason why we are losing, but it doesn't help the cause when, during a preseason game or a practice, the fans are already booing the QB.....and this is coming from a guy who is not a Henne fan for the most part.

If our fans suck, it is because they are doom and gloomers.....there is no middle ground. When we win, we are Super Bowl contenders. When we lose, we are the worst team in the league. Anyone who doesn't agree with the mob, well, then you sugarcoat things or don't know what you are talking about. I think some of you need to get realistic. We have played 2 teams that should each win their divisions. We have lost by, an average of 12 points (if I remember last week's score correctly). One of the best QB's to ever play the game had his best performance ever against us, yet we only lost by 2 scores. Our defense failed that night. Our offense went against a solid defense this week, and they played inconsistently. Each of these things doesn't mean the world is ending.

If they suck so badly, or all of you professional prognosticators "know" what will happen for the remaining 14 games, then I suggest you save yourselves the misery of many wasted Sundays and take up knitting classes or pottery....then we can come on here and question your failed attempts at a cross-stitch.

The most discouraging thing to me is despite how bad the Dolphins were, and they were pretty bad, the 10 points to tie this game were there. If Marshall just snags that TD and Carpenter hits an easy field goal we go to OT. Shoulda, Coulda, woulda, sure but for whatever reason we never make those plays, even our stars.

I'm struggling to be optimistic about this team right now. I hate to be pessimistic but it's the same thing over and over every season. There has been way too many bad decisions by this coaching/management staff and it shows. Every other team in our division is 2-0 and alot of changes need to be made.

Definitely things that weren't pretty, but despite all the bad we were still in the game. Henne played terribly in the red zone but thats the main negative on him. He was 12-30 with several passes dropped (1 for a td) and countless batted down at the line. I think the O line pass protection is our biggest problem at this point.

This is my point. As you said, you can't play the What If game, but despite the feelings of some on here, we were not blown out in either game. Regardless of the final scores, we had chances in each game to win, but we failed to make plays or capitalize. If we had been blown out by Seattle or Cincinnati, I would not be so calm. If the offense failed to generate any yards or the defense had been completely blown out in both games, I would be more concerned. But that hasn't happened. Yes, we lost to the Pats and they put up ridiculous numbers, but that didn't happen this week...against a team with, overall, better offensive weapons I might add. Our starting CB missed significant time, but Andre Johnson didn't light us up.

I am as frustrated as anybody with our failings, and it is getting old, but I still have hope for this season. I still think that we can be a solid team if we can just find some consistency.

I just finished watching the game, and I popped on here to read the general consensus. I'm actually shocked at the overreaction of people on here. Last week, we played, arguably, the best team in the league, and we couldn't stop them. This week, we play a team with 4 legitimate stars on offense-Johnson, Foster, Schaub, and Daniels. Did they light it up on us? No. The places where we failed last week were, relatively successful this week (comparatively speaking). Johnson had less than 100 yards on us...even with Vontae missing most of the game, and Schaub threw for 230 yards. We had pressure on the passer and corrected the majority of our mistakes from last week.

On offense, we shined last week, and Henne looked like a leader. This week, he wasn't nearly as consistent, but he was hardly the one to get all of the blame. Did Bush look like a world-beater? No. But, he also had far fewer touches. Daniel Thomas, how did he look? People can talk all the crap they want, but he looked tremendous today. Indecisive during the preseason? Not today. He was straight-ahead and powerful with 5+ yards per carry. Did he fumble? Yes....on a perfect hit. My god....he's a bust....no one fumbles.....ever!!!! What about Brandon? What about Carpenter? Brandon drops a TD...should we cut him? Carpenter misses 2 gimmies. 13 points right there...gone. Combine that with 2 inopportune turnovers, including 1 extremely deep in our own territory, and yeah, we lost.

But really, fire Sparano? 1-15? Suck for Luck? And you call yourselves fans? I think your expectations are too high and your consideration of our opponents is too low. Houston is not a scrub team. They are talented on both sides of the ball. We lost to 2 good teams in 2 different ways----1 because our defense couldn't stop them, 1 because our offense gave up too many opportunities. All of these things are correctable. We didn't look out of condition today, and we found a running back who can inflict damage and gain some yards the tough way. So we lost.....there are 14 more games to prove what some of you already claim to know. I, for one, will wait to see how things turn out.

wow thats f***g d**b so by your standards starting off 0-2 is ok as long as we stay in the game with these teams. we shoudl be beating these teams if we are any good

Don't worry, not all of us are looking for the highest building to jump off of. Still 14 games to go.

Wow, thanks for that. After the game yesterday, I was desperately in need of a good laugh.
