That Philbin likes our WR roster as is right now for west coast offense? Maybe the Wallace's and Pruitts of this team were mis-coached and have talent for this type of offense. As we know it doesn't take a number #1 receiver to run this game. Also maybe Gates is farther along than we think and Philbin see's it

I think you're right, however I look at our WR core and see a bunch of guys who haven't accomplished jack **** (except Bess who has been mostly consistent). Rmember, 40%, almost HALF of our passing offense was attributed to Marshall last year so that was a huge loss whether or not you like him as a person or not. Of course we're changing to Philbin's WCO, but I'd bet next year we will be drafting a WR in the 1st or 2nd round. We had a **** ton of needs this year (which pisses me off because that means we've whiffed in previous years more often than not) and we did address some of those needs so far, so I'm not going to jump out of a window over this draft, but I don't see us being a legitimate playoff contender just yet either. We're at least partially rebuilding, it is what it is.

I am just looking towards the future. Lets be real, we aren't going to compete this year. I don't think its a big deal not drafting a WR. We filled some holes but we still have a few to go.

They have a bunch of WR's in mind even after this draft is over.

You can't completely change a team to a new scheme on both offense and defense in one draft. If you look at what we need to run the west coast offense and a 4-3 defense, you can see that for the first time that I can remember in a LONG time we are drafting based on team NEED instead of just throwing **** together. All the picks are great IMO because they address positional need with talented players. When is the last time you can say we did that?

i dont know how philbin can like our wr's when he hasnt had enough time to get to see them. hes only been able to see them for a couple of days. the truth is more likely that he doesnt know what he has at wr. under the new rules he wasnt allowed to even talk football with them until a couple days ago.

Hartline and Bess are poised to break out.

I was thinking this yesterday... Marlon Moore and Roberto Wallace have some talent. Could be a donald driver kind of guy.

THe WR corps is as follows

Hartline
Bess
Legadu Nanu
Clyde Gates
Roberto Wallace
Marlon Moore

Doesn't look sexy at first, but if these guys develop, could be something as they each have unique skill sets.

I believe we are going to see what coaching can do to what seems like average players.

I agree when we are picking in the top 5 next year we will get whoever is the number one wr prospect I guess they know there gona suck we now officially have the worst WR core in the NFl and still decide to not draft anyone its a joke

Did it ever occur that it is actually Ireland that makes the final call on the picks and Miami has many holes to fill and Ireland has followed his board?

I think it's true, he likes the receivers on the team . Besides when the pats won the super bowl against the rams, what kind of receivers did they have?

Probably grab WR next year for TH. I don't think our WR core is as bad as people make it to be outside of our #1. Hopefully these guys can actually coach up Gates/Moore. I know one of em has pretty good size if not mistaken.
