Did Keuchly get fined for the hit on Matthews? Did the league admit they messed up?

Regardless, Matthews holds on to that pass, Tannehill has another TD under his belt, and we win that game.

There was CLEARLY helmet to helmet contact, and as adamant as the NFL is about reducing concussions, this particular hit has gone blatantly unnoticed......hmmmmmmm, imagine that!

looked like a lead with the shoulder hit to me...i think you let it go...sucks though cause that was a terrific read and dime throw to a spot b/t defenders by the qb

I thought the hit was fine. That's how I'd want our guys to be protecting the back end of the endzone.

I was pissed about the no call at first, but the last replay they showed it looked like Kuechly mostly got Mathews in the chest with his forearms and the helmet to helmet was more incidental. In other words, I don't think he led with his helmet and the refs made the right call. I think the defense should always get the benefit of the doubt on close calls like that. It was a good play by Luke.

chest with his forearm being the lead contact is exactly right...move to the next play

wheeler would never read it and get there like kuechly did...i can tell ya that

Wheeler is a pathetic excuse for an NFL linebacker. I laugh every time an O-Lineman gets out to the second level where he's at. It's the epitome of an eclipse. If Wheeler isn't sent on a run blitz he's either over-running the play or getting mauled. The guy looks like a safety trying to be a linebacker.

what they SHOULD do is send the helmet to helmet hit in to the league for review. Ron Rivera is doing that exact same thing for the video on Cameron Wake's hit. He says Wake's was a helmet to helmet but the one against Matthews wasn't. Um, watch it in slow motion and it is without a doubt helmet to helmet Ron

More power to Kuechly...these new rules are crap! Keep it up Kuechly!

What can we see in this play:
1. There is forearm hit on the chest that can be observed from the camera on the back of Matthews.
2. There is a contact helmet to helmet in the camera with front view of Matthews, is there an intention? Maybe not, but the infraction in this case is not about the intention, there is a hit helmet to helmet and forearm tackling also. It is an infraction for me and must be review. Now let's move on, but let's be clear on the obvious.

Can wake hit newton which I think could have been called but didn't so it went both ways.

Not sure how he was supposed to hold onto the ball after that hit.

Maybe, but the hit on Newton did not affect the outcome of the game, like the possible scoring play in which Matthews took an illegal hit in the endzone.
