I didnt get to see the game guys so im asking to the Fin Fans who watched Lemon whether hes potentially a No2 QB?
He threw a dumb INT which cost a FG before the half ended but weve seen alot of dumb INT's from Joey all season. Does he show enough potential to let Harrington go presuming that Culpep is fit for next season or do we need to bring in new blood?

He didn't show enough yet. At this point I don't care who we keep. I have no faith in any of our QB's on the roster. At least if we draft one there is hope for the future.

He showed enough but culpepper will remain our starter, we can see what he can do and then if he still dosent do well within a season we might switch to lemon.

No, not in one game

It seems our QB situation is still up in the air whilst Culpeps injury is still unknown. Its a major obstacle regarding our SB hopes for the future if Daunte's return to form is proven false. It got us a 1-6 record and cost us playoffs IMO. If Lemon can be brought on and be given serious pre season training-camp & pre-season playing time as our No2 QB i will feel alot safer than Harrington taking the reigns again. Malarkey should be binned as well which will help our O in my opinion.

Absolutely...that was a tough environment too. From the post game quotes it seemed as though he had control of the huddle.

Besides, I want that 2 million in cap savings by cutting Harrington. Sign a young undrafted free agent or draft a late round QB to be developed and you end up saving about 1.7 million.

I like the kid...he seems poised.

He did seem to have at the least a good command of the game. The int before the half as an exception to the rule when he lost his poise and made both a bad judgement decision and a poor throw. There were some nice passes to Booker, RB, and Chambers that may have been flashes of promise. I also like the completion to Peele to in the 3rd qtr.

There were a few times when he zipped the ball well enought but perhaps a foot short or a split second late when a defender may not have been reactive enough to get an int but enough to put their paws on the rock. He did show some decent footwork and he had his work cut out for him from the start trying to move around the poor pass protection our OL usually gives.

I say he will be in the mix next season. I don't see Harrington being cut though unless there is a plan in action and a qb targeted to take his place. All of this qb situation depends on if the FO feels if C-Pep is going to back in force. That situation and its analysis will be the straw stirs the drink on the qb situation. Lemon could at the least be the 3rd string on this team.

I totally understand that with only one game and i did see a game where Lemon would be playing catch up when we were playing against Manning and our pass-d being depleted. I wasnt expecting miracles from Lemon because to me hes totally unknown to us all apart from the Miami Coaching staff.
I did think Rosenfels had potential when he got his chance apart from the Browns debacle obviously but Sage showed future potential with playing time which unfortunately for me didnt come to fruition. I do wish we can draft a QB for once with a high pick because we are not going to get such high picks in the future. Weve got Ronnie Brown which im happy with but oh for a young Franchise QB.

I feel better with Cleo at #2 than Harrington. Dump Harrington, save $2 million, re-sign Cleo with the money we SAVE by dumping Harrington, and draft a QB for the #3 job for development behind Cleo and Culpepper. Then I'd feel a LOT better.

In fact, anything less than that and I have to seriously question the coaches and GM.

Problem is we've been questioning the above said coaches and GM all season.

If there is a decent QB available at #9 and worthy of a 1st round pick....I'm doing that in a heartbeat.

Cleo should be our number 2 next year. Make Joey take a drastic pay cut and put him on the back burner for awhile. That kid needs rebuilt. I think Cleo did a good job. He lead us to like five fgs and a TD. If one or two of those fgs are TDs we might win the game. I think better play calling would have helped us get a few more TDs. I think he made decent decisions and he trusts his recievers to make plays for him. I liked that it wasn't a typical Wes Welker and Booker show, finally got Chambers some action and he made some nice plays on the ball.

I think if healthy, Pep should play two full games in preseason, maybe the last two. Just to help him get back up to speed and to evaluate him. Give him two real games and see how he does. Than Yank him for Cleo. I think it might be a good idea to have 4 qbs on the team next year. Daunte, Joey, Cleo and draft a guy from a small school but has some good physical attributes. For all we know, Daunte could be done. WOuld be a good idea to get a head start on developing someone.
