Seasoned Veteran
I enjoy the finheaven message board but I do not understand all the hate for Jason Taylor around here.
I really can't think of a complaint I have about JT over the last 11-seasons. He was always in shape, put on all the muscle mass the Dolphins required to play DE in the NFL and proved he was a quality player on and off the field.
It didn't bother me one bit that he was on Dancing with the Stars and I don't think participating on that show would have impeded Taylor on bit on the field this year.
If anything he was in great shape and I imagine his footspeed and footwork would have improved, I think he will put up his usual numbers if not his best stats of his career.
The rift started with Parcells.
I mean look at his track record, he cut a player for napping, he cut another for saying he tweaked his hamstring.
If Parcells has it made up in his mind he doesn't want you, your out the door.
When JT was in the HQ and tried to speak to Parcells he felt slighted so at that point there was a bit of a 2-way attitude problem.
I don't know if Parcells was looking for an excuse or what.
Zach Thomas had a concussion during a game then migraines from an auto accident so Parcells had the excuse for Zach's exit but how was he going to get rid of a 2nd popular Dolphin icon without the backlash?
So is DWTS or his appearance in pre camp workouts the reason?
Was it an attitude clash?
Or was this intentional by Parcells to hasten JT's?
I think it was the latter.
What I know is that it wasn't for the value JT could provide for the team thru the draft picks we could gain.
Your telling me "potential" picks who may or may not pan out or make the roster will replace a defensive player of the year and an NFL man of the year?
Let those draft picks put their hands on their knees during a conditioning drill, they might just get cut to send a message, so much for value.
On top of all of this I can't understand how Dolphins fans are so quick to throw Jason Taylor under the bus.

As the New England Patriots coach Parcells spotted one of his players passed out from an energy-sapping training camp test.
''When he wakes up,'' Parcells yelled at trainers, ``tell him I just cut him.''
