I enjoy the finheaven message board but I do not understand all the hate for Jason Taylor around here.

I really can't think of a complaint I have about JT over the last 11-seasons. He was always in shape, put on all the muscle mass the Dolphins required to play DE in the NFL and proved he was a quality player on and off the field.

It didn't bother me one bit that he was on Dancing with the Stars and I don't think participating on that show would have impeded Taylor on bit on the field this year.

If anything he was in great shape and I imagine his footspeed and footwork would have improved, I think he will put up his usual numbers if not his best stats of his career.

The rift started with Parcells.
I mean look at his track record, he cut a player for napping, he cut another for saying he tweaked his hamstring.

If Parcells has it made up in his mind he doesn't want you, your out the door.

As the New England Patriots coach Parcells spotted one of his players passed out from an energy-sapping training camp test.
''When he wakes up,'' Parcells yelled at trainers, ``tell him I just cut him.''

When JT was in the HQ and tried to speak to Parcells he felt slighted so at that point there was a bit of a 2-way attitude problem.

I don't know if Parcells was looking for an excuse or what.
Zach Thomas had a concussion during a game then migraines from an auto accident so Parcells had the excuse for Zach's exit but how was he going to get rid of a 2nd popular Dolphin icon without the backlash?

So is DWTS or his appearance in pre camp workouts the reason?
Was it an attitude clash?
Or was this intentional by Parcells to hasten JT's?

I think it was the latter.

What I know is that it wasn't for the value JT could provide for the team thru the draft picks we could gain.

Your telling me "potential" picks who may or may not pan out or make the roster will replace a defensive player of the year and an NFL man of the year?

Let those draft picks put their hands on their knees during a conditioning drill, they might just get cut to send a message, so much for value.

On top of all of this I can't understand how Dolphins fans are so quick to throw Jason Taylor under the bus.

Enough of what already?

Trashing Jason Taylor?

Someone posts a thread about the thank you JT puts in the paper and it's yet ANOTHER opportunity for so called fans to spew more venom.

I agree, som finfans on here need to re-evaluate their mindset, I mean seriously do you think Bill Parcells will be around for 11 years like JT was?

He'll be gone in less that 4-years.

Jason Taylor made it perfectly clear he wanted nothing to do with the Dolphins from now on. He wanted out, we got a great value for him.

JT probably ran himself out of town, and i think thats what he intended to do. Not ever to the degree of someone like Terrell Owens or Chad Johnson (who is trying hard to get out of Cinncy) but Taylor realized he's playing on borrowed time and playing in the sinking ship that is Miami really isn't going to do anything for his career right now. Had he not demanded a trade and not said anything, he probably would still be here. Not that it was wrong for him to do so, personally i wouldn't want to spend my final years for a struggling team trying to rebuild.

Bill Parcells didn't want Jason here, and Jason Taylor was sick of being a Miami Dolphin. All Bill Parcells did is give Jason what he wanted all along.

:woot:Training camp is here! We have 70+ players on the roster NOT named Jason Taylor. He's in DC now, move on get over it. Parcells pushed or JT happily left, old news move on. Talk about the players ON the team, the rehashing **** nobody can do anything about is getting old.....as is seeing JT threads pop up 100x a day

We should have a JT forum

I hardly see it that way since Jason Taylor never felt that way until well after Parcells had been here.

I think Parcells, regardless of his rhetoric, showed he didn't want JT here any longer 1st.

Also Zach Thomas is a perfect example of his intent......clearing house

Owner Jerry Jones said free agent linebacker Zach Thomas could have the biggest impact of all the Cowboys’ newcomers. The team believes Thomas is an upgrade at inside linebacker over the departed Akin Ayodele, who, according to Cowboys insiders, was solid but left a lot of plays on the field.

No way is Akin Ayodele an upgrade over Zach Thomas

All I can say is thank goodness Miami doesn't have to face........

......even if they are on seperate teams.

Taylor was sick of the constant changes and the losing that came with it.

They both did what they felt they needed to do. I will always have respect for JT, and, it's shameful the way the board treated him. Both parties sparred for and got a trade. We got the better of the Redskins on that.
