It's starting to look like the players may have quit on Gase to get him fired. If that's what happened so be it. Glad he is gone.

Yea being discussed in all the other threads on Gase.

I’d lean towards Gase quitting on the players. And I’m not even being sarcastic here.

The signs were there. Seemingly coming into games without a game plan. His lack of adjustments during games. Repeating the same mistakes over and over (weak TEs blocking the opponents’ best pass rushers). The injury excuses.

Then you start hearing the comments attributed to Gase post-firing....it wasn’t a good situation, he wanted a quick resolution so he could pursue other head coaching opportunities, etc.

Is there anyone that felt this guy looked motivated over the past three weeks?

I agree. Gase gave up on this season before Tannehill returned from injury while Brock was QB.

Also while most of us can't stand the though of Matt Burke anymore, I think his group of players fought hard all year and made a ton of turnovers for the offense. Scheme wise we were bad, sack wise we were terrible but I wholeheartedly think the players gave it their all on 95% of defensive snaps and that is so much more than you could say about Gase's group.

I'm wondering how far back Adam Gase, began thinking about moving on from Miami? Could someone have been in Gases' ear about other opportunities. We all know Gase had a huge crush on Mayfield. Could it be he had his eye on Cleveland even before this season began? Too much speculation and chatter about these other opportunities for Gase, really seems like a set up to me to get out of Miami.

Would not be surprised he ends up in Cleveland and does well. Let Jarvis laugh on twitter now.

Funny that the NFL Network clowns were already touting the fact that Peyton Manning has been in the Browns owner's ear about Adam Gase. I guess it wouldn't be surprising for other teams not to learn from Miami's mistake. The NFL really is an Old Boys' Network. If you have a pal, run to your media sources and plant some stories about how awesome your pal will be as a head coach.

Michael Silver was on that panel this AM and he was pathetic. No one deserved to be fired. Steve Wilkes didn't get any support from the Cardinals. Vance Joseph is highly-respected throughout the NFL and never had a chance without a QB...so Elway didn't support him. On and on.

Adam Gase alienated his players, by his own doing. He's a condescending, arrogant and know it all type of personality. Being one of these can be expected, but by being all three, rubs people the wrong way. He certainly wasn't a players coach. He got lucky with Peyton Manning in Denver. He made Adam Gase. He's done nothing since. I fully expect more of the same BS from Gase if he ever gets another HC opportunity elsewhere. He'll alienate those players as well. If Gase ends up in Cleveland, Landry may as well punch his ticket out.

I think you should be asking if Gase quit on the players? I don't think there was any input from the players. His way or the highway. I don't think there was any consideration of what the players thought might work effectively.
