If this report is true, Ricky is done.. but it would be good to know that bringing him back for 2005 wasnt fruitless.. Does anyone else think that Ricky may have aided Ronnie's transition to the NFL by teaching him some new tricks and ways to read NFL defenses?

If they are true, there was nothing bad at all about bringing him back. I want someone to name one thing we lost. And dont say Lamar Gordon

I think he most definately helped Ronnie.

I think he most definately helped Ronnie.

We definately lost something. We lost the opperatunity to cash out on Ricky's return to the NFL. Had he not failed this drug test we could have pulled in a second or third round pick for Ricky, now we get nothing. Also Ronnie missed out on playing time, but that may not be all that bad, seeing as Ronnie didn't need the pressure he would have received.

Sure he did. If nothingn else, he allowed Ronnie to not have to carry the load out of the gate, and get a little acclimated before he has to carry 20 0times a game.

Im sure he helped Ronnie. Its time to feed Ronnie now. Sad to see a player with as much talent as Ricky, waste that talent

Any potential trade would have been contingent on Ricky staying DOPEFREE for his tenure there.. So basically, the trade would have been nullified regardless at some point, since it seems Ricky cant keep clean., especially in the offseason.

Sure he helped Ronnie. He helped him by what to expect in the NFL and how to run right aswell. The only thing that he didn't learn from him was to smoke pot.

But if he wouldn't have come back we would've gotten something? How did we lose that. If stayed retired - we get no pick. He comes back for a year and helps the teams and Ronnie then fails a drug test - we get no pick. However, we had a potential pick because we brought him back, so we lost nothing by doing that. I'm not saying that we are losing nothing by him failing the test, just that we lost nothing by taking the chance to bring him back.

Yes we could have gotten a pick for ricky but that still doesnt mean bringing him back hurt us...It's not like we lost a draft pick because of him...He had an incredibly low salary and did his job, having him didnt hurt us at all.

Yeah he taught him where to find the good greens on South Beach.

i was wondering the same thing...good point

man i love this kid r.brown he is going to be a elite rb in years to come he is going to take this team on his shoulders and carry us to the playoffs....

well if ricky didn't comeback, we wouldn't have been able to give him carries in the final games of the season when brown was hurt, so we probably would've lost some games, and we wouldn't have the momentum for the next season, which means we wouldn't be as attractive to prospective free agents, as well as guys like mike mularkey and dom capers. so i'd say it's a good thing he came back.

For those who argued my point you didn't read it clearly. There wasn't one bad thing about taking Ricky back. The post I was responding to asked what we lost with Ricky's recent situation, and as I said... we lost the oppertunity at unloading Ricky for a pick. This statement can not be argued with because there is no arguement.
