Did he ever make an offer? I remember rumors about it, but was it ever done?

I remember at the time most people, including myself, thought Larry Johnson was not anything special.. Sure, KC's line is awesome, but Larry Johnson has already proven to be an elite runner..

I love Brown, but it would have been awesome had Spielman trade for Johnson instead of Gordon. Couldve taken Braylon Edwards or some defense in 2005.

he did, but the KC GM didn't wanr ro give him up.

He also had a trade set sup to get Deshaun Foster, but Foster refused to play for us.

How could you have thought he wasnt anything special did you not watch him play in college. I knew it was just a matter of time before he got the job and would show everyone what he was about.

Yeah, he was a powerhouse at Penn State. Without looking it up, didn't he gain like 2000 yards his last season there?

There were a lot of RBs names mentioned as possible replacement to Ricky.

Johnson was among them. They were calling him Huggies back then..Other were Jones from the Bears,a couple of the Browns RBs,Suggs and Green and also Larry Gordon which was the one Speilman settled on.

BTW to get Gordon it was Speilmans idea to give up our third round pick instead of the Bears third round pick which we received for Ogun figuring we would end up with a better record than the Bears.Yet another reason why Speilman wont get another job as a GM.

Just be thankful none of the trade/pickup scenarios didn't happen. The result of the rejections was Saban. We win.

I think that we showed some interest in Larry Johnson and I do believe that Speilman wanted him to come here, but I don't think that any talks was going on about it.

Well for KC to have given up Johnson, their 1st round draft choice a few years ago, would have been pretty dumb. Im happy things went the way they did, but then again, at the time it happened i wasn't. gotta love hind sight.

No we were pretty damn close to getting him, we offered a third though and they wanted more but we already blew that on Feeley.

I don't think Rick did a bad job as GM for his first shot out of the gate. I'm not sayin he's better then what we have now...not even close, but he did bring some talent here. A lot of Ricks decisions should have an * by them. It should say, check DW!!
