Everyone who isnt involved with the Mavs orginization seems to say yes he deserved it

At first I didnt think he did...but seeing the replay 1000 times he wasnt even going for the ball he was intentionally trying to knock Shaq to the floor, not to mention Posey was suspended for a much softer hit

All I gotta say is, the game has really changed and not for the better. It was a flagarant foul, no doubt in my mind . . but geez man there is a reason why Stackhouse couldn't go after the ball . . Shaq is huge, he couldn't reach the ball so he gave him a hard foul . . you don't suspend a player in the Finals for a foul like that . . . If that is Wade fouling Dirk like that and they say Wade is suspended (LOL, will never happen because Stern will be like u can't suspend this kid) I believe the Heat fans would boycott the game. Shaq gets away with physical play every game, mainly because with his size he can't help it, so discretion has to be used . . it was a flagarant because he didn't seem to go after the ball, just wanted to prevent the big man from going up with it . . but its not worth the suspension.

I honestly don't know...I didn't hear Stackhouse's comments or Shaq's but it seems to me like Stackhouse was moving full speed to try and catch up to Shaq and they kind of collided with eachother. Not that it wasn't a hard foul...but I'm not so sure it was intentional.

The foul looked much worse because Shaq is huge, Jerry is small, and Shaq went down hard and it sounded hard, but all in all it was just a hard foul.

He led into Shaqs face with an elbow though...I think it would have looked WAY worse if Shaq was small because he would have went FLYING.

If he was actually going for the ball....fine....but he wasnt is the thing

Didnt see that

Im just saying in general a lot of people other than the Mavs think he deserved it

Personally Id rather have him serve it starting next year so they dont have an excuse for losing.....

Thats all well and good but if you cant reach the ball dont slam your elbow into the guys face....

I dont think it was enough to warrant suspending someone for a game in the finals.

Didn't he say a comment something like wanting to put Shaq on the foul line when asked about that play?? if so that means he was not going after a block, therefore intentionally hard fouling Shaq, in that retrospect id say yes he does deserve a suspension given there have been lesser offenses that have gotten suspensions during the course of the playoffs this year

well, that doesn't mean he wanted to foul him "hard"...I don't think Stackhouse meant to hit him as hard as he did, don't forget how big Shaq is. I agree with Hurri, it was bad...but doesn't warrant a suspension for a finals game.

Umm he wouldn't have had to foul Shaq like that if he was small, he probably could have went for the ball more clearly, his objective was to stop the big man from scoring and he did that, it was flagarant, but it does not warrant the suspension. Shaq throws elbows left and right . . remember the push off on Dampier in game 3, he gets away with more fouls than anybody in this league (like I said earlier this is due to size, not by intention, which is why they usually don't get called). If he gets fouled hard, the refs need to take into consideration Shaq's size like they always do. You don't suspend a player in the finals for that foul, I'm sorry man. I was watching the news, and Shaq and Zo are both laughing at how the hit "was not" suspension worthy.

So Stackhouse intentionally knocks him to the floor and its the same as Shaq UNINTENTIONALLY hitting a guy?

Posey got suspended for a shoulder bump.....Stackhouse did something 10x worse.

Like I said id rather see him start the suspension next year...but I think that type of play needs to be eliminated, if you cant get the ball dont bowl over a guy, or at least pretend your going for it

Stack didnt go for the ball...he just hit Shaq as hard as he could to stop him from making the basket. The refs mads a good call....it was a flagrant foul. But suspending players for something like that in the playoffs is just absurd. Hopefully Stu is gone soon so this nonsense can end.

The real question I have is why isnt it a flagrant foul every time someone intentionally fouls Shaq away from the ball or hacks him without going for the ball? Does Shaq need to fall to the ground in order for it to be a flagrant?

Unintentional?? Dampier was going up for the rebound and Shaq pushes him like 2 feet, grabs the rebound and goes back up with it. That was unintentional?? Shaq gets away with these type of plays all the time. Stackhouse intentionally fouled him . . I dont think he meant for him to go to the floor, it just happened, and its worth the flagarant, I have said that, but not worth the suspension, not on this stage.

Like I said, if that is Wade and he fouls Dirk like that going up and Dirk goes down hard and Wade gets suspended, u same Heat fans would believe that is criminal for him to be suspended on this stage, and u cant deny that.
