Do you think the Dolphins should have started Cleo Lemon at the point where Joey Harringtons 6th rounder (for the Lions) was set to become a 5th rounder due to playing time or did we have too much hope at the time for running the table and making a playoff push?

At the time that Joey took over, the season was not over. He did look promising in the early part of the season.

You do bring up a very good point however....

a 5th, 6th and 7th rounder are basically interchangeable. Who would you target in the 5th that you cant get in the 6th?

The Dolphins screwed up by allowing Culpepper to start the first 4 games. Then later screwed up by sharing halves between Cleo and Joey creating a Qb controversy. Then starting Cleo in the very last game once it was too late to determine anything. Basically Saban mismanaged everything about the whole QB situation.

i do agree with u in saying that but im not really worried about losing a 5th pick cause joey played a lot, the point i would make is that i think i would of liked to seen what cleo could of done with a few more weeks of starting..i dont think the phins saw enough of him to make that judgement call

cameron knows him backwards and forwards. You learn more about these guys in practice than you do in games anyway. Cameron and our coaches know everything they need to, although I agree that the fans like you or me don't. The fans need to see more of him to have a better idea what he can do but the coaches have a pretty good idea i think

We found someone by the name of Zach Thomas in the 5th.

and the Patriots found someone by the name of Tom Brady in the 6th, the Bears got Devin Hester in the 7th, and the Saints got Marques Colston in the 7th.

Good point. I think Cleo did a good job in preseason and the last game and think he should of played more, besides he's the one staying, not Joey.
The Dolphins need to start valuing their draft picks a little more.

Devin Hester was taken in the 2nd round, not the 7th. He was projected by some to be taken in the 7th however.

I think we were still stuck square in the middle of the race at that point, so the jury was still out on how well Joey was doing. What they did screw up on was failling to play our younger players when it was apparent that we weren't going to make the playoffs. And it wasn't they, that was all Saban.
