I see where the coaching opening exists however I have seen nothing on his official status........Is the feeling that after a feel good win like we had yesterday it looks bad to come out and fire the guy today?:idk:

He was the interim coach no need to fire him.

technically since Campbell was only interim, he wasn't officially head coach. Meaning he can stay. I would be glad to see him stay as a coordinator or coach of some kind

you want him to be a coordinator? lol oh my...

As much as we would like Dan to stay on the reality of it says he won't. You can't go from Position coach to head coach and back to a position coach. He's not really coordinator material. In all likelihood he gets snatched up elsewhere pretty quickly.

Rexy said he wanted to hire Campbell before, he will definitely make a play

It would probably be an untenable situation having the former interim on your staff. You would have to be very secure feeling to do it. I think Campbell has earned the right to lead this team next year- if he's willing to do it on a one year prove it contract.

As an interim he basically is a free agent like the others interviewing. No black monday for him. He would have been fired had ross extended him after the Texans game

If they don't bring in Shanahan, then I am all for bringing in Coughlin and keeping DC on staff and having TC mentor him into becoming a HC.

Don't be surprised if they find a role for one or all of the 3 guys who stepped up - Dan Campbell, Lou Anarumo and Zach Taylor. They probably won't be the top roles but all of them manned up and took on the difficult challenge of significantly increased responsibility in tough circumstances. They served the team and we should be very grateful for their efforts. All 3 of them are decent development prospects as coaches. Some of Taylor's play calling in the final game was excellent.
The new Head Coach will come in and he will bring in his people. However, Tannenbaum would probably give excellent references for all 3. Eg I can see Dan being appointed the Assistant Head Coach.

I am ok with keeping all three, but want Taylor away from Tannehill. Taylor has been his QB coach since college and I think RT needs another set of eyes.
