The Trio doesn't like to trade their draft picks but...

Looking back, would you trade our 1st, 3rd and Penny and a 2010 1st (a comparable package to what CHI gave DEN) for Cutler now - knowing the picks we ended up with? I think I would.

Cutler > Vontae + Turner + Penny + 2010 1st?

Would you trade our early 2nd rounder for Brandon Marshall? Maybe throw girly man Ginn in there to close the deal?

Marshall > Pat White + Ginn

Other than Sean "the only exciting Phin" Smith, we seemingly got squat from the draft. And yes, I know it's too early to say that but I'm saying it anyway.

P.S. Ginn is a big poosay. Not only did he not make the plays when we needed him too, but what bothers me even more, is his poosayish play every week. His blocking on running plays is just NOT blocking.

But, I don't blame Ginn for being the girly man that he is. I blame the Trio for going into 2009 with Ginn as our "best" WR. Ginn should've been traded before this year, before the entire NFL could see what a fraud he is.

P.S.S. Gibril Wilson, Eric Green, Ernest Wilford - from now on, Dolfans are allowed to question the Trio on FA moves. Right?

P.S.S.S. Jake Long is good but a franchise QB (Matt Ryan) always trumps franchise LT. And I hate to say it but Long wasn't even the best LT in that 2008 draft class (see Broncos LT Ryan Clady). Point being that one can question the Trio on their 2008 draft too but at least that's looking better than the 2009 class thus far.

P.S.S.S.S. Resigning our own FAs Crowder and Bell was not worth it. There were better options out there for that kind of money.

Looking back, would you trade our 1st, 3rd and Matt Roth (a comparable package to what CHI gave DEN) for Cutler now - knowing the picks we ended up with? I sure would!

Cutler > Vontae + Turner + Roth

Wow....................................

I smell vultures!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If you know it's too early to say why bother saying it? At that point you defeat yourself of any credibility.

Vontae get playing time even in the dime. Pat White is a wasted pick for the wildcat and unless he is a legit NFL QB, won't help us. Turner can't even get active on one of the NFL's worst WR cores. Hartline is a dime a dozen possession guy.

I love Sean Smith but those other picks could've been used for better rookies or to trade for Cutler or Marshall.

Kenny Britt > Vontae

Louis Murphy > Turner

Well, it's early but if we can all be so excited for Sean Smith this early, then by the same token, we have reasons to be concerned with Vontae, White, Turner.

The point is there was a very rare deal on the block this offseason when McDaniels was crazy enough to trade away a young franchise QB and our picks used on Vontae and Pat Turner (with maybe a little more thrown in like Roth) could've netted us Cutler. That deal should've been considered.

Unless Henne is the real deal and if he is, start him now!

It is only two games into the season. How can you judge the 2009 draft on two games? You have to remember, all these guys are rookies, and it will take time for them to adjust to the pro level. Davis and Smith will only get better with time and both are already big pieces in the secondary. Hartline has caught a few passes this season as a 4th round pick. If you are expecting anybody in the 4th round or later to come in and make an immediate impact right away you are kidding yourself. Yes it does happen, and even UDFA make impacts(Bess), but for most they need to adjust to the league.

As for your moves you asked about:

1st, 3rd and Matt Roth for Jay Cutler:

This proposed trade above is not anywhere close to what the Bears had to give up. You could make the Argument of Roth as equal as Orton, but the Broncos wanted a QB in the deal and Roth is not a QB. Plus, the Bears gave up a 3rd round pick and TWO first round picks. Not one 1st round pick. That is a lot for one player, and this front office has high expectations for Chad Henne. You don't draft Henne with a second round pick just to throw a bunch of high draft picks at the Broncos for Cutler after only one season.

2nd rounder for Brandon Marshall:

A 2nd round pick would be great for Marshall, but that is not the asking price. The Broncos want a 1st and 4th round pick.

It is easy to sit back and criticize what the front office does, but one thing we don't have access to is how some of these moves affect team chemistry and financial impact. Plus, a trade for Cutler like the Bears did is a huge risk and if it doesn't pay off, it bites you big time. You think missing on Culpepper, after trading a 2nd round pick was bad, what would it be like if Cutler fizzled after trading two first round picks?

I just don't want Dolfans thinking the Trio are infallible. We already went down that road with that quitter Jimmy Johnson and let him run Shula and Marino out of town. The Trio's mistakes are starting to add up.

Two franchise QBs (Matt Ryan and Cutler) have already slipped past the Tuna.

i dont like the pat white pick. dont see him ever playing at a high level in the nfl. the rest might turn out ok though

Yes and especially to the FA remark. Everyone please understand, Bill Parcells hasn't been apart of a Super Bowl team since his time in New England, and hasn't won since the Giants, so you do the math. The staff is old and maybe, just maybe the game has passed them by. Case in point this is a more dominant pass blocking team, yet because Parcells is known for running, so we force the run. That leads to us not having some of our most explosive players on the field, Bess, Cam, and Hartline. This team should run a great majority of shot gun plays, it'd lead to to less LBs on the field and Ronnie and Ricky getting to the second level where no one wants to touch them. Play calling is bad and player utilization is worse. We have talent, not enough, but we have talent.

Or perhaps he already has his QB in Henne.

You're right that I forgot how much was paid for Cutler but I would easily up that offer to throw Penny or Henne in there (ala Orton) and maybe even the extra 1st round pick. You just can't be competitive in this league without a franchise QB (with a rare exception to the Dilfer/Ravens SB team).

Ginn and a 2nd rounder may have been enough to get Marshall.

I knew they blew it after the first day of training camp.
