He said today that R.Starks, J.Ferguson, M.Roth Will be our front 3.Then he Corrected himself to to say Vonnie Holliday Would Start.I want to draft Chris Long but Where would he fit in... OLB. I look at the roster and the 1 Area we have not adressed is OL. I Think (Not that I agree) It will be Jake Long Or Matt Ryan (I hope not). Mabey I'm Reading Into it to much, but intresting

No one is garaunteed a starting position right now. Not Ronnie, not Will Allen not anyone. I read nothing into that. he is looking at it as a roster as of now.

You Might Be right But now that We Know Randy Starks Is playin DE It changes a Little
Just from the Stand point of money. He signed a 5yr $25 million Deal I doubt hes A backup no ?

I think the fact the the entire front office is in full gear mode saying this defense is based on Jason Taylor playing the Lawrence Taylor role kills any chance that Chris Long or Gholston are the pick. Jason Taylor has to be traded for us to draft Chris Long. The fact that Sparano says Carey is the left tackle makes it a little questionable that Jake is the choice. Still, I wouldnt rule out Jake if they think he'll be a better LOT than Carey. If they think he's only a right tackle than its gotta be Ryan. Considering they refuse to name Beck the starter over McCown makes you wonder how much faith they have in the guy. And now appernetly they are changing Beck's mechanics

He also said that he wants Jason Taylor to be his defensive leader as well. I like Chris Long but if we draft him we definitely dont have anywhere to put him on a 3-4 or a 4-3. Unless we trade JT.

I agree I dont think it's a lock it will be Chris Long Like alot of Experts Think

Why would they name Beck the starter over McCown when they promised Josh that it would be a QB competition. It would also make no sense to name Beck the starter, right now, when they have yet to start OTAs and do not know what they have in either Beck or McCown in game situations.

Chris dropped 20 pounds and focused on LB skills for some reason. The best DE in the nation don't do that on a whim. Groh and Chris may know something that we don't if we're reading into theories. JP could move inside if we are even going to run a 3-4. Sparano still don't know what he wants to run last I heard. Either way this draft will be interestring and heartbreaking for some of us. Which contingentsy it will be won't know till draft day.

he said she said...who the hell knows. im fine with either long

Did you actually think Sparano would say Carey is our Right tackle? Then everyone would know that we are picking Jake Long with the 1st pick.

Same for his comments on the defense... Everything Sparano said was to safeguard what people think on who they'll select.. And it worked on you to a tee.. That was the whole point.

I can't believe people are falling for every word the coach and the front office is saying at this point in the offseason before the draft.. Shocking really.

Carey only gave up 3 sacks last year at LT. Do you people know how much money a T would cost for the #1 overall and we have a young guy that only gave up 3 sacks all year? I'm sorry but we have our LT IMO and the Jake pick with the #1 makes no sense to me. We need a G and a RT IMO. How can a rookie LT do better than only giving up 3 sacks. ZI like Jake don't get me wrong. I just don't think we need a LT is what I'm saying and you can't draft a RT at #1 without paying LT money.

EXACTlY! Don't believe for one second that Sparano, Parcells, or Ireland, will slip and show their hand. NOTHING can be believed at this point. Just about everything that is said is said to confuse and put doubt into the minds of the other 31 GM's.

I think that fact that he only gave 3 sacks doesn't paint the entire picture. How much push he is getting when it comes to the running game? Nobody can say with a straight face that Carey is a good LT. He is adequate. Adequate doesn't strike fear in the hearts of men. He is much better suited to play RT.

I think us leading the NFL in rushing till our HB's started dropping like flies counters your opinion. Even Chatman was tearing it up. You don't do that without your LT getting push IMO.

Well in the running game we averaged around 4.5 YPC off the left whereas we averaged about 3.7 off the right. It was so lopsided that we rushed about 70-30 in favor of the left to the right. I feel safe with Carey on the left. Hes only going to get better.
