I didn't get a chance to watch this one. I've looked around here along with snooping on a few 49er boards to get the gist of what exactly happened. I've noticed lots of furious 9er fans and the overall feel of it is that they handed us the game. Or they dominated and somehow we won. I can see the TOP was heavily in favor of them, but what happened here? If they dominated like this, why did we again go up early and seem to hold them off? Anyone help?

Thank our defense for playing good football when they needed to.

49ers mounted long consistent drives but settled for FGs. We came out quick in the 1st qtr but after that we had quite a few 3 and outs. The game came down to a 4th and 10 with the 49ers in the redzone and Joey saving the day with a sack.

We did what we normally do. We scored 14 points pretty quick, went into Prevent (ya prevent offense) mode. Our D played pretty well, but couldn't get off the field on 3rd down. The O didn't generate anything from the mid 2nd quarter to late in the 4th Quarter. We drove down late in the 4th, but missed a FG that hit the cross bar from 49 yards. The bad thing was on that 3rd down (3rd and like 5 I think) we ran a stretch play that lost a few yards. That had an impact on the miss, so the 9ers had a golden oppertunity only down by 5 with over 2 minutes left with great field position because of the missed FG. They were driving, the D locked down and Porter won the game with a sack on 4th down. I won't say we deserve to lose, because our D stopped them from scoring TD's. We were however statistically dominated. It was an ugly win, but a win none the less.

Defense play good today, SF settle for field goals only but we had some chances too that if we convert is a different story.

The Niners also had a 17minute TOP advantage, I believe. That's usually the right formula for a win.

They had like 3 drives of 7 plus minutes and only got 6 points out of it. Our defense really came through when they had too.

I think this is a sign that Sparano and co may be moving on after the season, this is the same sign that flashed above this team when Saban left.

Ok that isnt how i feel about this but it is a notion that could be why we seem to play not to lose. it reminds me of the 1999 season when we barely beat the bad teams and the good teams killed us.

We really escaped with one here but we earned it. The only games we deserved to lose where Arizona and round 2 of the Patriots.

Miami played a great defensive game but somehow the 49ers kept converting on 3rd down and they just kept running the clock which was frustrating to watch but the fins D kept them off the end zone.

Don't let the 49er fans fool you, the Dolphin D was outstanding. They were backed up against the wall again and again, and each time they stepped up. Go tell those 49er fans what defense means, it's half the game. Nobody was handed anything, two good reads by Penny led to two long TD passes and the D secured it. This victory was earned.

I think we play to the level of our competition too much.

That's a seriously dumb post.

Ravens handled us pretty well too.
Theoretically, if we make the playoffs (winning AFC east) I don't see us beating either of the 2 current wildcard teams (Colts and Ravens). Especially the Colts. Our secondary will have difficulty containing Manning and co. as they have with all the other good QB's we have faced.
Our offense will really need to step it up in the playoff. 14 to 17 points a game won't cut it against either of those teams.
