Did we dodge a bullet: Russell Wilson In The Mix For Seahawks Starting QB

he's one of those prospects that i cant help but root for. win that job Wilson, not just for me, but to shut everyone up who thinks Miami "missed out" on the Flynn sweepstakes.

Wilson will do really well, not just where they have a system that suits him, but where they adapt the system to help overcome the height issue.

If he's in a 3-way fight for the starting position from the off, I don't see how the system can be adapted for the QB in any way. It'll be who can make the best use of the offense at their disposal.

That speaks against Wilson winning the battle in year 1. Much better to commit to him if and when you feel he's ready and start to work in the QB boots, opening of throwing lanes and other wrinkles to help him reach his potential.

LOL I honestly have no respect for any talent people, scouts or gm, from the seahawks after they invested in tavaris jackson as their quarterback....*I* had him pegged as a complete bust and obviously I'm right. This talk about him being in the running for the starting job is all talk. Flynn will be the starter, they paid him the money. Pete Carol has a very college-like way of coaching where money isnt involved so this RA RA RA stuff is just a way to motivate the rest of the team and make them rally behind the guy who "wins" the job. You're crazy if you think wilson is going to start.

I don't think we didn't dodge any bullets, I think we flat out missed on both Flynn and Wilson. I though all along signing Flynn in the off season was the way to go. When that didn't happen I thought spending our 1st and 2nd round picks to fill other needs and drafting Wilson in the 3rd to address the QB was the right play. Personally, I think Seattle executed what should have been Miami's game plan perfectly...twice!

I like the way Miami's team is coming together much better than Seattle's squad.

Russell Wilson was the 3rd best player on John Schneider's draft board PERIOD. Not the third best quarterback, the third best player he saw in all college football in 2011.

That's just eccentric. Schneider shouldn't say such bizarre things. It makes him look incompetent.

I don't see why this is in the Dolphin main.
We didn't bite on Flynn. Wilson getting reps has nothing to do with our situation...... Honestly

The point of the thread was exactlly that, we didn't bite on Flynn, and are we justified in not signing him by the fact Seattle is considering a rookie in the mix, when someone like Flynn has been signed, why would a 3rd rounder be considered when Flynn was suppose to be the man...i.e. would he (3rd rounder) be considered in the mix in NE, GB, Denver, as examples.. Flynn was the prize QB this past FA'cy...after Manning, but the coaches think he needs to be challenged by their 3rd round draft choice...it's just interesting and something we're discussing, so it's fine in the main forum.

honestly, I think it's become obvious that Flynn and his agent weren't getting the love they thought they would. When he first visited Seattle, word came out that they balked at the offer because A)It was 3 years and B)He was going to have to compete. We pretty much gave him the same offer so he went with Seattle. This isn't like Matt Cassell having a pro bowl season when Brady got hurt. This was somebody putting up amazing numbers in 2 games.

As far as Wilson you might be dead on but I did not like their first round pick. Right now I feel most of fill a little to good trusting in coaches we really no nothing about except our DL and ST caoch from last year. In fact our head coach really has no head coaching experience along with our head defensive coach. Our head offensive coach was just fired form college football and we just drafted the QB off his team with our first pick. I do like our draft it has a little sizzle but I am concerned about the coaching that no one here on this site has not convinced me it might not be a problem

3" taller and hes a top 5 pick....can't say I'll ever understood the NFL's infatuation with measurables.
