Did we draft a bunch of role players or does anyone see a any starters?:ponder:

No we drafted "scheme players". Players that will fit our defensive scheme. Our hybrid defense which Nolan will bring to Miami. If you need help, in all seriousness, look at the old Patriots film from early 2000. They ran a pure hybrid D with a mix of zone and man blitzs. They had the LB's which could cover/blitz which we went for in this draft. NOw I'm not saying they will work out because the draft is a crap shute but that is the intent. Its an attacking defense which dictates an offense. I believe this is what sent Nolan out of Denver. He did not fit what McDaniels wanted. I think he plays more coverage and it did not fit his personnel. IMO
 
remember no name defense or killer b's? those D's werent too shabby. they didnt have the big stars but they were dominating and relentless. i'll take that any day over having a bunch of brand names.
 
And I think Brandon Marshall will start too.. just a guess.

He's part of this draft.
 
The history of the league is littered with players who were supposedly not good enough at the NFL level. Clearly our FO believes in these kids. They have the makeup they're looking for. One thing Ireland mentioned was that the kids are 'coach-able'. That's a big deal. Means they have lots of upside and potential to be groomed. That's all you can ask for. Kids that will give their best. Listen, learn, and hopefully contribute.

excellent point. Marshall is better than anyone coming out of this draft. we got a superb player with out 2nd round pick and traded down and got another. we're in very good shape. People need to relax with the Network opinions and let things play out.

I'm not a GM or a coach, but I can see 4 or 5 starters in this class. It's a wait and see thing, but when you compare the guy's we got to the ones at there same position, we got great value and talent mixed. Only time will tell.
When O'drick starts and big Dan Williams backs up for his team you'll then say GREAT PICK!!!!:hclap: When Koa Misi gets his first sack or TFL you'll be jumping for JOY. When John Jerry begins the season as our starting left guard you'll say WHAT A STUD. When R. Jones gets that 1st int and returns it to the house, well (I'll probably shi- my self) but you my friend will chug a beer for our beloved Dolphins. :hump:When C. McCoy has more sacks Joey Porter did last season you'll say the FO are figgin Geniuses.
The morale to the story is that nobody really knows. I'd rather look at the glass half full than half empty.

Not ready to hand the starting spots to any other then Odrick. Misi will see substantial playing time, Edds in passing situations. Jones will be in a competition for a starting spot.
 
We drafted based on NEED.

That's all i care about.

I'll leave how the players are used up to Sparano/Nolan. I'll have faith in the fact that Parcells/Ireland KNOW how to evaluate talent and took the best players that our NEEDS called for.

We didn't draft any needless situational players like Pat White or Ted Ginn this year. That alone is worth an A in this draft.
 
we got starters, and role players....with the odrick pick...all my jet fan freinds grunted and moaned b/c thats who they wanted...even tho we didnt think of him. He will be a MEANNN DL...maybe even have some time inside...either way he helps with our DL prob with no true NT right now...(we signed a fa kid tho) ...the OLB's...i am bettin MISI is a starter right now. Edds has a shot, i think John Jerry starts, and i think ignognito starts too...with garner playing any role and plugging gaps which is the strength of him, our line even got better (take that jets).

i think ppl should care way less about name and way more about need. I admit i didnt know all these guys by name, but thats only b/c i am listening to Kiper tell me who HE says is the best at the posistion, not really any other reason. I loved that we got teh needs so i was happy, then i did my research on the guys and loved the picks. analysists define who is a "sexy" pick, what do we give a crap what they say? just to impress or freinds at the bar or what??? we got our needs and they look good..i say we got at least 3 starters here.
 
we got a lot of iffy players....the only immediate starter i see is John Jerry.

Kinda feel the same way. I think the only reason we traded down was so we did not have to shell out big bucks. We could have had a definite starter on either side of the ball at 12. I think we got a lot of Hartlines good player but not a game breaker.
