I know it's only pre-season, but although the reports said that he was outstanding in camp, Kiko:

1) Has not filled gaps well;
2) Has not tackled well;
3) Has not made any plays;
4) Has not covered well

Some NFL players are known to downplay their health issues in order to keep the paychecks rolling in.

So my question is, are we overreacting to his mediocre play so far? Does the "this is only pre-season" mantra ring true here?

Or, did the Bills and Eagles realize Kiko was done and we did not?

Is he going to step up his play at some point or do you foresee him being a short time Fin?

Zach Thomas (like Marino with the QB's) is making all middle linebackers that have come after him look like schoolgirls.

Thoughts?

Our LBs were exposed big time V's Dallas. Major disaster coming up.

i've seen teams that looked horrible in preseason come out like gangbusters in the regular season. i've seen teams that look like world beaters in the preseason that have sucked in the regular season. so on that basis alone, i don't read too much into anything that happens in preseason. that being said, a team's evaluation of an injured player is just that: their evaluation. they are guessing. speculating (unless they are withholding medical information that somehow we can't uncover on our own). see drew brees and daunte culpepper. and a million other examples of one team thinking someone won't recover, and they do.

No need to overreact until we see them play a actual game, and not a glorified scrimmage.

Starting linebackers played two series. Stopped Cowboys on the first drive. Got beat on the second drive. Let's see what they look like in a few weeks. Right now I just want everybody healthy.

he doesn't look good but I think it's more about not the same level athlete...he was never a good in trash lb...or at getting off blocks...buffalo kept him more clean than Miami looks like it will

although and I'm guilty of this also dallas oline is the best in the game and so you aren't gonna face that level every week needs to be stated...still if he's not better in the box we got issues

Either way we are playing with the house's money. We woulda jumped on tunsil at 8

I don't agree with this...I believe the plan all along was eli apple and to trade up for myles jack in round 2...people need to remember the nfl gets information way before the media does

I have a feeling we'll be players during camp cuts. All the pieces are not yet in place.

good luck finding a mike that can play off someone elses camp cuts

every year we all get excited about who may be cut and then teams keep their best 53 and the only things we end up with are fringe roster like players off other teams cuts and first guys released even

it's kiko fellas...for better or worse

Agree and disagree. While you're right about the trade still ultimately working out for us and being a good value/decision, centering our plans around the wrong evaluation of a player at a very important position costs us dearly.
