Like everyone else, I'm disappointed to see the season go down the toilet yesterday. But rather than get too depressed, it's not too early to reflect on some of the possible strategic errors..
In Long, Smiley, Grove and Vernon Carey we have outspent every other team to field by far the most expensive O-line in the game (Donald Thomas and the backups are relatively chump change compared to the listed four). Others will be able to quantify, but I ask the question whether we spent way too much here and not enough in some other areas like WR, TE, LB, etc where the deficiencies are self-evident.
I know that the general gameplan was to become dominant on the Oline so that Ronnie and Ricky (and Cobbs) could be among the best RBs in the game, but I think that the deficiency of a #1 WR has limited the ability of the team to score rapidly.
Hartline, Bess and Camarillo are all decent but get very few opportunities to display their talent (note that all 3 are probably very inexpensive). I have been a Ted Ginn Jnr supporter because his speed is potentially dangerous, but he has proven to be too streaky and his lack of size and physical strength are huge limitations despite his speed. I would still keep him for KR duties and occasional WR appearances but we need a big quality #1 WR.
Does anybody else think that we overspent on O-line and need to spend more elsewhere?

i like our oline and i wouldnt say we spent too much money on them until we stop re-signing people or signing people on F.A due to them....

yeah its not like we're in a cap hole... the oline is the best part of our team, im glad they spent what they did... hopefully injuries wont totally dismantle it but no, we didn't tie up too much money in them
