Did you guys see Clowney last night?

What's the point of this thread in the main Dolphins forum?
Clowney is not a Dolphins player.

You are the best. You know that? The thread is actually about Flores knowing a good thing when he sees it. This is a Miami Dolphins thread discussing what the phins coaches did right and what we want to see them do. Is that fine for you oh great monitor of all things appropriate?

"Damaged goods" is what Finheaven had to say about him. Yeah, remove the "damaged" part and that's about right. The commentators were so accurate in pointing it out -- he impacts the game in so many different ways that the sack numbers are irrelevant with him. He's a stud and a game changer.

And then watch him disappear the next few games.Never been an Elite DE and still isnt worth a 1st rd pick

He shows the importance of a pass rusher.

I think @illscriptures was clear in his point and how it relates to the Miami Dolphins.

@ANUFan I know you are fully aware the Dolphins were actively trying to acquire Clowney. He simply cited their overwhelming interest in Clowney as evidence that this FO and HC just might be adept at identifying attainable talent. Might bode well for the upcoming draft and FA, ya know??

Well Flores had Minkah and didn’t know how to utilize him. That’s concerning for me on how we gave up on him so fast.

Didn't know how to utilize him?? Um, no.

Minkah didn't want to be utilized the way they wanted to use him. In this talent deficient defense, they needed him to do more things and he wasn't willing. That's why he's gone. Didn't want to buy in.

Besides, it's baffling why people are acting as if Minkah has been the 2nd coming of Troy Polamalu since becoming a Steeler. A couple of his BIG plays were simply being in the right place at the right time when a tipped pass or fumble forced by another player occurred. Let's be real now.

He's been ok for them. Made some bad plays too.

So Minkah makes a couple plays, performs well for a few games = the Dolphins were dumb to trade him.
But Clowney makes some plays, performs well for a few games = he's still not worth his weight.

Got it.

The hypocrisy from Dolphins fans knows no boundary.

He didn’t want to come to Miami and Fitzpatrick didn’t want to be here either. So all that shows is two of the best defensive players in the entire NFL wanted nothing to do with playing for the Dolphins. Hopefully the free agents the Dolphins go after when the season is over will feel differently about playing for the Dolphins.

i thought he was going to be the laziest biggest bust. guess not!

Well, when Clowney supposedly visited then decided he wanted no part of MIA, many experts and pundits were certain the team was purposely 'tanking' and sure to go 0-16.
When Minkah lost his $#!+ then demanded a trade, the team was 0-1 coming off a 59-10 loss to Baltimore.

Now the team has won 2 consecutive games, while competitive in several others, and many are seeing the potential of this new coaching staff. By the time the season ends, and with all the draft capital the team has, the narrative is likely to change.
