I wonder which groups that have been advocating (alleged bigot) Incog's suspension are now also protesting alleged rapist (in)Famous Jameis's not being pulled off FLState's active roster??? *crickets*

Having read the actual article that you link to, I am puzzled: Are you saying that they should not discourage players and officials from using the n-word? Because that's all they're doing.

My God guys, please read what I said. This group has an underlying agenda... And that is to try to create an atmosphere in the nfl as if it was a freakin it office. For whatever reason they want to take the machoness out of football... (maybe they could say its a bad example for they kids or something) thats how they are... They will blanket this under the whole race card because they know people are scared to death to fuk with that subject and because they know the agenda driven media will eat that **** up... So it pressures whatever organization to fold in some kind ofwa. That is how they work, if your asking if I think its ok for people to be tollerant of racial discrimination, the answer is no. I don't raise my kids to hate anyone because of their skin color and I wouldn't want them to. That's plain ignorance, but reality is, racial discrimination goes both ways, all ways actually, people just magnify white on every other race. It is equal across the board. And people shouldn't have to tolerate that. But we know how we as guys talk to eachother... I got friends of all races and we clown eachother about race all the time. But were friends and we can do that to eachother. An outsider would listen to our conversations and think we were the biggest racist ever but in all actuality we are best friends and always will be. So I hope that answers all ya'll questions round this piece...

Overreaction.

Google the advocacy group, it was formed by black ex-nfl players who promote diversity and minority hiring in the nfl, which is where stuff like the Rooney rule came from. I think this N-word stuff is a bit out of their realm, but I can see why they'd take a position on it. You have to keep in mind also, that a lot of this stuff is generational. The status quo is held by older people, black and white. The default position has always been, don't use the N word. But the younger generation is using it as part of their vernacular. It will be difficult to impossible, to excise out. This is not unsimilar to sexist words like "b*tch" which have, sadly, become part of everyday language, used by all genders, orientations, and races.

I have no doubt that Incognito did not use the word as a weapon at all, but since it can be used that way, lots of people have come out against it.

I guess I got a few thumbs down from some of our liberal posters...All I was pointing out was the irony in his post. In case you missed it, or it went over your head, he told the OP to STFU about making partisan comments (take it to the political forum), and then proceeded to one-up the partisan banter.
