Did you know that in 1966 the Miami Dolphins drafted a QB with the 2nd overall pick in the NFL draft? And then in 1967 they drafted a QB with the 4th overall pick. That would be the next year.

1966 Rick Norton
1967 Bob Griese

The moral of this story is if you give a QB 4 years to not blow and he still blows, it's probably time to move on.

Please! Move on now people.

Problem is Tannehill doesnt blow. He didnt play a good game but he is still playing well overall.
You act like he is playing like Case Keenan

That was a different era in football when all you had to do is give the Rb the ball 30 times a game and scoring 25 pts a game was considered an offensive explosion. The passing rules of the game has made it harder on defenses to hold teams under 20 pts so therefore you must have a qb capable of score 25 to 30 a game. Average just is not going to get it done in 2015 NFL, unless you are lucky enough to have a Raven 2000 or Seattle defense that last couple of years.

wrong. QB was harder to play back then. You called your plays, receivers couldn't run free off the LOS. QBs had to be intelligent and not brain dead like most of these losers who play today.

My point to those Tannehill supporters is how long do you want us to wait? Isn't it obvious that he is what is (slightly below average) and that's it. Every year we stay with him is an opportunity to miss the next Griese.

Totally disagree the game was much simpler back in those days. Offenses today are very complex and defenses pretty much lined up and played. You didn't have complex zones and zone blitz schemes. Most of it was straight up man to man with 2 safeties deep. There are so many check-downs that qb's have to make and pre-reads that older qb's did not have to worry about. It was all about smash mouth football back then.

my point is it was harder to execute a pass as the rules made it such that every forward pass was contested and yardage earned. The QBs had to be ver smart. Idiots like Kapernick and Geno smith would never have even made a roster back then.

I think OPs point is you should always be drafting a QB which is not a bad idea.

I get your point, when I look at it from that point of view. You must be old like me lol.

I wonder how much defensive coordinators drool when they see the Dolphins coming up on the schedule.

Every teams defensive game plan against the fins: Step one:Blitz and defend the short routes. Step 2: Win.

:). I got off point I just get annoyed at some of these dolts that get to play QB today and make millions thanks to headset technology :)

I think the 2000's San Diego situation, with Brees then drafting Rivers, is closer to our current situation than the 60's Dolphins was.

I have not lost all faith in Tannehill....but I am a believer in drafting QB's high until you have an elite one.

Regardless of other team weaknesses....finding a playmaker at sports most important position is priority one.

So unless Tannehill goes on a tear and leads this team somewhere...I am in favor of drafting another one high if one is available worthy of drafting.

With RT, I see s QB thst is not in command of the offense.
He is a moving part in the scheme.
That doesnt win in the NFL.
We need a field general with a good arm.
Can RT handle that. ...or is this all he can be.
That is the question

I say the Fins should draft a QB every year, doesn't matter what round, until they get it right.
