Click on the Dophin's Insider and watch Nick Saban Show. (p.s. the show is a great recap of the Carolina game and its key plays).

About half way through Hudson uses a video board of the play to break down the line blocking scheme and critique Ronnie. It clearly emphasizes how the running play is dictating the Defense's moves. I love that.

Granted, the Oline has not consistently produced on a majority of the running play (but they have been exceptional on pass blocking), and yes Ronnie can also take some of that responsibility with some indecisiveness, but its great to see what can be accomplished with the personnel we have and this type of scheme.

It really impressed me that when done correctly holes open up, and Ronnie hits em and hits em hard.

There is an old adage that you "cant get chicken salad, from chicken $H!+." But whatever Houck is teaching basically the same personnel we had last year is working.

This was great to watch.

That is what Zone Blocking is all about. All great OL's have the same movement and focus. KC is the perfect illustration of moving the Defense to fit their needs. BTW Houck has done this with average at best linemen wait until he gets 2 more very good hosses in there.. It will be mid 90's Dallas OL play all over again

True, it was zone blocking, but our OLine flat out moved the masses on that play. They blew up the DLine. Ronnie destroyed the two attempted safety tacklers and moved into the deep secondary on his own.

I dont want to jinx anything coming down the pike, but yeah, a mid 90's Dallas OL play would suit me just fine.

:D

a mid 90's Dallas OL...yeah that's what i would love our line to look like in 2-3 years.

Damn work web blocks...guess i'll have to wait till i get home.

not to be off topic but did u notice sabans shirt and mannerisms? man he looks up tight! I've never seen someone button their top shirt button without wearing a tie.
