Didn't see this posted about the Marshall trade!

I think Brandon Marshall would still be with the dolphins, if not, for the new coaching staff thats in place now.
You are correct he would be. Ireland does scout players but he has to also work with what his coaches want or do not want. Philbin did not want Marshall. At the time we picked him up I was fine with it but by the end of his first year when we played the Pats it was a huge mistake and cost Tony his job the way he undermined the QB and the team. I have said as much and some have disagreed but Philbin made the right move. Consider we was the AFC east with a bunch of cast offs that first year and the wildcat proves it is coaching and inovation that makes the difference.

Boldin was traded with a 5th to Baltimore for a 3rd and a fourth. Ok so I was a little off but not that far off.

and than 3 years $25 mil and $10mil guaranteed. for a little over half the production. marshall got 4 years $47 mil I think.. not sure on guarantees. I wonder how much ravens fans piss and moan about boldin not being that exciting to watch...

as for shanahan not liking marshall... I beg to differ....

all I have to say is that he better get suspended...

when he goes for another 1000 yards, and probably 100 catches, and probably makes the playoffs, we'll have to see how our third round pick this is doing...

our third (and second round pick), last year was DT... so two picks for DT or brandon marshall... not a tough equation to hammer out.

the marshall trade was all about what ross wanted...ireland just tried to appease him with his alpha wr...i know cause i sat at a bar with ross and ireland in charlotte and ross was letting everyone know and ireland kept repeating it...we must get a true #1 wr...that offseason we trade for marshall

Don't get me wrong. I really enjoyed watching Marshall play because how exciting he was and im pretty sure everyone agrees with that but he is a cancer.

You know what is really exciting? When a QB throws the ball to a receiver in the endzone, and he actually catches it.

You know what is even more exciting to me? The team actually winning enough games to reach the playoffs and beyond. The new coaching staff does not want any alpha receivers, and they especially don't want any Receiver that would have a hissy fit if he did not see the ball thrown his way a considerable amount of times.

Your absolutely right, the potential of Marshall turning into a cancer was there.

Well we dont any receivers on roster close to a jennings or a nelson and definately dont have a te close to finly, dont have a qb who can spell rogers. Line who knows but we definately dont have much continuity .

Well, Jennings was a draft pick that became great, we may not find a receiver as good as Jennings, but this draft is deep, if Miami is able to put all the college info together right, Miami could come out of this draft with at least 1 good receiver.

With the right QB, both Bess and Hartline could be pretty good receivers in the WCO.

Charles Clay might never be as good a Finley, but if you wtached him in the final few games, and how he was coming on, he might be good enough, but I am sure Miami will try to find a TE also in the draft.

Well, for what its worth, the 3rd rounder we got this year in the trade is right next to our present third rounder which means we get to pick back to back in that round. That is a good thing believe me!

I think that ultimately, the move to deal him is probably a net plus for our team. The problem is that it made the move to get him a big net minus.

You know how Philbin talks about wanting character guys on his team? Well, this is should serve as an example:

While Brandon Marshall is punching women in night clubs, Larry Fitzgerald is volunteering at irrigation projects in Africa.
