I half to say give credit where it is deserved. The Bills got themself a player in Donte Whitner. He looks to be a better presence then Allen already. Im also remember him being bascially one of the longer rookies to sign but yet he is starting and playing great. Nice job Levy !

I really thought he would fall to us. I was really mad when the Bills took him because I really wanted him.

i see potential in him. Reminds me of Nate Odomes and Henry Jones, 2 great db's for the bills in there glory days. I would love to see how how the Bills would be if they have a qb that they had confidence in. Look at there wr's ..i always liked Evans and Josh Reed, even thou he had a few bad years he might turn it around. He has the potential.

Hes got potential, and is quick... but I'm not sold on him. I guess we will see.

He is pretty small for a SS...

He's the same size as Polamalu, Roy Williams, and Mike Brown

Brains are more important anyway

If Jason Allen were smart enough to get in the game he might get a chance to prove himself.

he may be better than allen, there was a reason the bills drafted him over allen. and we probally would have taken whitner over allen to, but that is not the way things worked out

You cannot judge a player because he has not played much through his first 2 games. he will get a chance to play and it will come down to how hard he has worked to determine how good he can be.

the only reason Whitner started against us (along with the other 2 rookies on d)is because of all the injuries they suffered. if it weret for Vincent being hurt he may not have started at all this year.

Ko Simpson is starting for Vincent..... Whitner would have been starting by week 3 latest...Coy Wire started last week for us.

I'm just giving Nasty some crap...... Allen should be fine.

Barring injury to him, Whitner was going to start at SS for the Bills this year from game 1. And he was the 2nd-last rookie to sign, several days into training camp. Ko Simpson is starting because of injury to Vincent in the 1st quarter of the game against the Pats last weekend. And both are upgrades over what the Bills have had back there the past few years.

Can't exactly write-off Allen, but there should be some concern.

Whitner - 5'11 205lbs
Roy Williams - 6'0 230lbs

And he would be starting in your defense by now. Your defensive scheme for a safety is pretty basic in a Cover2... interms of coverages and responsibilities. There is alot more for a safety to know in our defense...

Dont get me wrong... I aint saying Whitner sucks, or wont be good. I am just saying I aint sold on him yet, and need to watch him play more.
