Diego Sanchez UPDATE

From the Dana White press conference on Thursday


Said that before the Koscheck fight, that Diego Sanchez was diagnosed with Hepatitis C. At first he was planning on announcing his retirement before the show, but further tests revealed he didn't have it, but they didn't know what it was. Said after the fight with Koscheck he was finally found to have had a major staph infection, explaining his inability in the ring that night.

Well, at least he has an excuse for that shoddy performance. Man, Diego was awful in that fight. But, if he had a staph infection, that would seem to explain it.

to me this sounds like a cover-up. Diego **** the bed at the last PPV. Looked horrible.

Now a way to keep him "strong" and not look like a total loser, they come up with this "story". It's a way to sneak out 1 more big pay day out of Diego. He will get exposed again as a weak fighter then he will be esentially done as a draw

I disagree. As much as I can't stand him, I think he's a great fighter.

You have to remember, Koscheck has the best wrestling technique in the whole UFC. That goes as far as anything in takedowns and defending takedowns. He's worked hard on his stand-up punching in the past few years and has really improved.

I think neither is a pushover and both are towards the top of that weight class. I'd like to see Koscheck get a shot at someone like BJ Penn, Matt Hughes, or GSP

MikeO what are you basing that on? I dont like Diego either. I think he's one ****y SOB but at the same time, he's proven tima and time again that he's a badass and it wont be too long before he's holding a belt. His war with Karo Parisyan showed me a lot about him and when he knocked out Joe Riggs, I became a believer.

You gotta remember. Koscheck looked like **** in his fight with Joslin so you knew he was going to come into to the fight with Diego looking to prove something.

This is in line with my thoughts...You also have to remember its not like Sanchez was dominated in the fight, it was actually very even...
