Dolphins | Team officials dining with Brees
Sun, 12 Mar 2006 17:20:36 -0800
Alex Marvez, of the Sun-Sentinel, reports free agent QB Drew Brees (Chargers) flew to South Florida Sunday afternoon, March 12, to meet with Miami Dolphins officials, agent Tom Condon said. "He's going to dinner with club officials tonight and I'm sure I'll talk to Randy (Mueller) tomorrow," said Condon, referring to the Dolphins' general manager. Brees said he is not rushing to sign with a new team. "I'm not going to rush it because this is a big decision. Wherever I sign is where I plan on spending the rest of my career and winning a few championships in the process and raising a family and everything else. It's more than just a one-year thing," said Brees.

Now where would you want to raise your kids Miami or New Orleans
South Beach Vs. Mardi Gras
Beautiful Sceanary Vs. Post Katrina
You make the decision!!

He'd better rush it to some extent, because if he doesn't then all the FA talent we want to surround him with will have signed with other teams already.

Based on this, I feel better about him signing with Miami because we want a long term solution and he can be it as long as he is physically able. Howeever, going to NO he'll be there 1 or 2 years until their QB draft pick (whoever it is) can take over, and I don't think, baased oon what this report says, is what he wants.

Now take that with the other report of him lkining the rebuilding challenge in NO....

I have no idea... I guess only Monday will provide us with the details.

and now that we have spent some cash on signing two defensive players, does that reduce the cash we had to offer, or would our offer be more incentive laden?

I'm getting pretty angry now, Brees has met with both sides, there isn't much more to do and he is seriously hampering our chances of getting other players in FA.

I wonder what Brees likes to eat.
Is he a burger-and-fries kinda guy, or does he eat caviar and oysters on a sterling silver platter?

And there is no way Drew will do that. That is one of the main reasons he and the Chargers didn't see eye to eye. Why would he walk into a new place with a similar situation?

Waiter: Mr. Saban have you decided?
Saban: I'll take the house salad and the special of the day "Prime Brees".

Waiter: Mr. Brees may I take your order?
Brees: I am just having salad. But instead of lettuce could I have cash instead? Preferably $10 million in cash with French dressing.

Waiter: I'll have to check with our Chef, Chef Huizenga.
