Dion Jordan wasn’t seen on the practice field in Day 2 of training camp. But he is present at the facility Saturday, according to head coach Adam Gase.
Jordan was conditionally reinstated on Friday after serving a yearlong suspension for violating the NFL’s substance abuse policy. Jordan is restricted in what he can do at this point and isn’t cleared to take the practice field.
“There’s a certain protocol that the league has put out, as far as what we need to follow,” Dolphins head coach Adam Gase said. “We’re allowed to have certain conversations. He’s allowed to do certain type of things. There’s certain areas that he’s allowed to be around. Obviously, we’re taking everything very slowly. We’re trying to make sure that we do everything by the book exactly with the way the league wants us to do it.”
Jordan hasn't played a game since December 2014 and has a lot of catching up to do. He is expected to join a deep group of defensive ends that includes veteran
Andre Branch and former Pro Bowl players
Mario Williams and
Cameron Wake. An area where Jordan also can eventually help is special teams.
