Note, this is NOT my idea. This comes from a friend of mine that writes for an eagles website, insidetheiggles.com. He wrote a "what if" article, listing the pros and cons for both teams if the Eagles sent their 22nd overall pick, and Brandon Graham to Miami in exchange for Dion Jordan. The idea is that both players were playing out of position for their teams. Graham would be better suited as a 4-3 DE and Jordan a 3-4 OLB. So I ask, would you make this trade?

Jordan should be an outside linebacker for Dolphins. Don't trade, get defensive coordinator to put players in position where they can succeed.

I rather keep Jordan. I like how he can run down field step for step with TE's and I like his potential to be an elite Pass rusher with time. If he can ut on some weight and get some good experience he could step in for wake in the near future or just surpass Vernon and become a great 4-3 DE

Yes, because with this coaching staff Jordan is worthless to us, and I love Jordan as a player. They should try to trade Jordan and Pouncey, that would give us three 1st round picks we could use to rebuild the weaker parts of the team. But then again with this coaching staff I'm not sure if 6 1st rd picks would help because Philbin only plays rookies on special teams. This team isn't going anywhere until Dawn Aponte hires a whole new staff.

trade a potential all pro? dont be ridicluous

Jordan is not evening starting for us and never will under this coaching staff. He will not make the pro bowl with this team unless it's on special teams because Philbin and his wonderful staff have no idea how to develop talent, and Jordan is a physical freak talent. It pisses me off when the Dolphins trade up to get a 6'6" 260lb DE/LB that has 37" arms and runs 4.5secs in the 40, and this staff can't find a spot for him on this defense? Is this the 85 Bears defense we have? NO!

Just venting a little.. I would love to keep Jordan and watch him and Vernon smash QB's for the next 10yrs, but I've never seen a coaching staff like this on any 7-9/8-8 teams not play draft picks like Philbins staff. You would think we were a superbowl team and have such good players that rookies can't sniff any playing time, but this is a below .500 team since Marino left..

We have an OLB in Wheeler who stinks and an uber talented athlete in Jordan who's better off at OLB because of his speed, quicks, ability to play in space, and pass rush ability. He just isn't best used at DE wrestling around with 300+ pound OTs- he's muscular, but he's thin and has a high center of gravity. Screw Wheeler, pay him because there's no other real option and make him a backup/special teams player. Imo Jordan has to be moved to OLB to realize his vast potential, it isn't going to happen at DE. If you trade up to the 3rd pick in the draft to take an uber talented player, use the talent.

Jordan reminds me too much of Jason Taylor to let go of, unless we get something in return that is over the top in our favor.

I envision Jordan as the second coming of Jason Taylor in a hybrid defense. If he is used in that fashion, we will have an all-pro.

I would do it without hesitation, hell send me a first and a 3rd and u can have him. I don't see him as anything special . Should be a solid player but he is not the next coming of Taylor

He's much more athletically talented than JT, except for one critical element- wrestling with OTs on the LOS and winning. There were some freaks who could do that well while undersized like JT and Jack Youngblood, but they're few and far between (Tony Boselli dominating JT aside). That just isn't Jordan's strong suit, never was in college as well, evidence by his getting ridden out wide by OTs frequently. He is unusually fast and quick, and although he's strong that isn't a lot of weight on his bones stretched over a 6-6 frame. Play him where he belongs, as a base OLB. He'll still blitz and put down his hand plenty, but as a 1st and 2nd down DE it's kind of a waste playing him there. I'd replace him at DE with James Gayle from VA Tech, move DJ to OLB and send Wheeler to the bench. And next year, to the curb.

Jordan is a 3-4 linebacker. We are already a liability at linebacker versus run and he will only make that worse. Im just hoping our new Gm doesn't make any picks like this early in draft.
We could have had two starters possibly but instead we got a guy who lost playing time to an ok player in Derrick Shelby and is horrible against the run

This is on Coyle, Jordan should have gotten more reps unless he wasnt helathy which he seemed to be. Vernon had a great year, but I still think Jordan should learn the OLB position and start over Wheeler. Wheeler may get it together next season, and if thats the case, you rotate Jordan with Vernon/Wake and have an awesome pass rush. This kid needs to play more.

I don't care where he plays, but we keep him. Wharever happened to the BPA? He was it at 3. Our coaching staff is failing Dion. He has top talent, but is not being taught correctly. I know Dolphins fans hate this, as do I but, we need to be patient. Let's develop this awesome player and keep him like JT. Hell, bring JT in to teach him how to handle the 300 lber's.
