How do we draft this guy number 3 overall and hardly ever play him? The guy will be a beast. I cant understand why the guy gets so few snaps.
 
Get it through your head that Olivier Vernon has earned his reps. He is excellent against the run and gets pressure from time to time. Jordan is not ready to set the edge he is too inexperienced.

Give him time and he will be an all-pro. He has freakish abilities but raw.
 
Yep I think the play of OV has really been the big reason why he's not playing more. He's made a couple of huge plays this year and he's going to be a great player in a year or two.
 
I mean at this point and time I think OV is a beast. Our Dline is great. Let the kid get healthy since OV seems to be growing I mean the kid did come out early maybe he is starting to scratch his potential.
 
DL played great tonight and OV would have had one more impact play if he hadn't been insanely, blatantly held on one that I was screaming at the TV about.

No complaints about the DL rotation tonight.
 
Yeah I don't think Jordan is hurt or anything, I remember early in the game Vernon was about to come out on 3rd and long and the coaches waved him back in. It must be that Jordan is not looking too good in practice.
 
The reason I didn't really want Jordan was because I thought Olivier was going to be beast, and so far that is true. Dion Jordan will be a star in the future, but he was definitely a luxury pick.
 
Vernon has been fine, but it still seems silly that we aren't seeing Jordan just a little more, especially considering the D spent almost all of the second half on the field and except for picks after long drives could not get off the field.
 
maybe im just getting old but projects didnt used to go 3rd overall.
 
Cam Wake took a season or so to ease into an every down player. Granted, going CFL -> NFL is a little different from 3rd overall... but D is playing spectacular. Let Coyle worry about Jordan's snaps. Let him learn from Wake.
 
Not for anything but I have a feeling Jordan must have been injured early in the game because he wasn't even on the field on 3rd and long situations last night. This is the first thing I tried to find out this morning. Why wasn't Jordan playing?

exactly what I was thinking...when we were up I thought it would have been great coaching to put more pressure on the Bengals by putting Jordan in on the 3rd down situation and giving Vernon a rest. But of course that didn't happen and we played conservatively and eventually got a win, but I agree last night Vernon played a heck of a game.

At this rate I would have taken G. Bernard instead of a luxury pick.
 
Jordan gets a decent amount of time, but we don't always use him as a pass rusher we drop him into coverage a lot
 
Inless of course bernard sucked. Easy to make that statement week 9.
