nope, sims is more athletic, natural blocker who uses his arms very well, and was a basketball player,which means he is more Gates than he is Fasano.

hopeful that Dion Sims will be more effective with YAC than Fasano based on what Sims has shown in preseason thus far.

i really think we have found our TE. he remind sme a lot of former steelers and fins TE ERIC GREEN [minus the cellulite, drugs and poor work ethic].

green could really bang people around. he was a bowling ball in traffic and in the end zone. he catches the ball a lot like him. sims is a bit lighter [green hovered around the 299lb mark over his career] but he is the same brawler and is a blocker as well as a receiver. complete TE.

tanny will make him a star as he LOVES HIM SOME TE's!!

I agree in that Sims does remind me of Eric Green ( minus all the baggage ) which is a good thing. I believe as time passes you will see more from him.

How I see it.
Fasano had great hands and caught what was thrown his way. But he was no burner, and he was good at his position. Sims, is new, has great hands, and as the op said, he has good yac abiluty.
To me it's like the Dolphins of recent years to Philbin's Dolphins. Used to be we would trudge along and "Do the best we could." Philbin's team and players are the new era, fast, strong, and determined to win our division. These guys are young and hungry. They see the Pats are beatable, and the Jills and Jests are playing for 4th place.

they said they put a lot of emphasis on the search to find a complete TE. I believe they found him. now if we could find another next year.
