Mods... Not sure If I can post this or where I can post it..
( so move or delete it, if you wish)

Does anybody know of a way to transfer a DVR recording to a DVD?
Lets say I wanted to put a copy of "The Price is Right" on DVD from my DVR.

Anybody have some info?

I have often wondered about this as well. My only idea was that if I had a DVD player that recorded I would simply play the game and hit record on the player.

i wonder that too, i actually have the game on dvr, im sure you can call and ask direct tv, however, their customer service sucks. and you'll just be past around like a 2 dollar whore

I have a Pinnacle device that hooks to my computer through the USB port. The Pinnacle has RCA (video and audio jacks) that could be hooked up to the output port on the DVR. The game could be recorded to the computer hard disk and then burned to DVD. The Pinnace also has an s-video port. The device was under $100 and that included the recording software.

The proble is that (I believe) the recording to the computer hard drive will only be VHS quality.

or you could buy one of these from ebay for 15 bucks

That is what I have got. Bought a DVD burner from Best Buy and just hook it to my DVR instead of DVD player. Works great. Bought it for $125

Are you sure its for recording The Price is Right? or is it for a cerain thing that happened on Sunday?

He really wants to save all that Porn he has been recording from DirecTV's platinum adult channels...the Price is Right?....yeah sure.

Any of the computer video capture boxes would work (dazzle, happauge, pinnacle, etc.) Should be able to pick one up @ Walmart for under 100 bucks. Use the composite(single RCA) or S-Video outputs and the 2 RCA audio outputs from the DVR.
Or, you could just hook up a DVD recorder directly to the DVR, again using S-Video or Composite and the 2 Audio RCA jacks.

Either way the transfer will be realtime...which means that 1 hour Price is Right episode will take 1 hour to transfer. Also, your video quality will be limited to 480i...unless you want to spend around 10 grand for a professional HD recorder.

I use the Sony vrd-mc5 portable dvd recorder and a yellow red and white patch cord works great, can get it around $100.00 bought mine at sears on sale for 79.00
